The making of hemmy.net Part 1
How did I come up with a domain name called http://www.hemmy.net? The hemmy name was a short form for hamster created by a friend of mine (who is a super hamster lover hehe). Initially, i was opting for domains such as http://www.katana.com, http://www.katana.net, http://www.renzokuken.com, http://www.renzokuken.net but all of them were taken (Blast those domain name owners!!). In the end, i just took a name which was easy to remember and I hope my friend won’t sue me for this 
I was eccentricly excited when my webhost replied that my site was ready. Overwhelmed by joy, it didn’t struck me until later that the most difficult part of building the website was the content!! Arggghhh, it took me around two nights of deep pondering of what to host on my site before i finally decided what to put. Initially, I was game for hosting my own developed java game applications through java webstart but the idea fell through after I snivel at the amount of effort just to develop a game application (2 or 3 months for a good game and I’m a programmer in case u didn’t know :P). Nope hehe….that just won’t click. How bout linking all the fun stuffs that everyone enjoys into my site? Not sure how well it will turn out but i’m definitely up for it.

Hi Kevin Liske. A lot of contents here are towards American/Western culture coz I was brought up around it as well as for the interests of my targetted traffic to this website.

So the creator of this lighthearted, fun site is an actual programmer? Wow, that’s quite an accomplishment - my mind was stretched to capacity just learning biology, so my hat’s off to those who have the smarts to be so computer savvy. Congratualtions!
