StatCounter
Unimpressed by the 24 hourly update by my webhost web stats report, I registered StatCounter to get real-time detailed webstats on my website. Well what can I say bout StatCounter? It’s a remarkable web tracking system which provides very detailed reporting information, simultaneous response update and is easily configurable.
The only downside of this counter is that the summary stats determines the uniqueness of a visitor by using a cookie and therefore will be defaulted to unique if cookies had been disabled.
The rest of the stats however rely on the analysis of the most recent pageloads. The uniqueness in this case is determined by your visitor’s IP addresses.
Another strength of StatCounter is that the details boils down right to the visitor’s ISP, page visits, visit returns, visit lengths, browser type, browser version, operating system and screen resolution.
