Google AdSense Image Vs Text Ad Units
Google AdSense gives you the option to choose text, image or both for an ad unit. If both was chosen for an ad unit, AdSense will determine which one will be more effective for your site. So what’s the most effective ad option to invite more clicks on your ads?
My Advice? Go text ads all the way!! Why?
1. People are immune to image ads already. Text ads are still a fresh concept and can be easily concealed into the contents.
2. Google AdSense text ads are several per ad depending on size giving several opportunities to click on an ad. Image ads has only one. Therefore the chance of text ads being clicked is more than that of an image ad.
3. Text is faster to recognise than an image and there is also a short description where the link ads point. Therefore a text ad will attract more interests.

Isn’t it a bit odd that a page that argues vociferously for text ads contains, by my count on this page hit, 7 image ads and only 2 link ads?
Things must have changed since early 2006 when this was posted….

Concealing into the content makes the website a bad website. That’s trying to trick your users to click the ads!
Unless you make the text ads look like site contents, people are exactly as immune to text ads as they are to image ads.
And as said, tricking users into clicking is just bad style

IMO, image ads pay higher considering the fact that it takes up the whole ad space. But I prefer Text ads because most of the time image ads shows ads that are irrelevant to my topic. One thing I am sure of is that Link Ads pay the lowest.
