Sony Pulling Plug On Aibo

Sony is stopping production on the first mass-marketed robot, Aibo. 150,000 of the USD 2000 robot has been sold worldwide. This cast worries from the owners about available spare parts after the production ends in March. Sony however did promise to provide maintenance for the robo-dogs for seven years. The end of Aibo is another part of the company’s bid to cut costs and focus on core electronic business. Many Aibo fans are disappointed as it represent the tradition innovation of Sony.
