A Koi (Japanese coloured carp, relative of the Goldfish) was reputably 226 years old when it died. The fish was believed to be a few years younger by it's owner, who had recieved the fish from his father. But when taken to a lab and aged (by counting rings on scales very much like counting rings on a tree) it was 226! the oldest golfish recorded was 46 when it died. Wow thats old .
