Shape Shifting Robot Video

This robot called LAYERED-X appeared at the 9th Robo-One competition held in Tokyo on March 18-19th 2006. Developed by Asurada, its uniqueness lies in its ability to change to different shapes. |
Starting from a short tower it changes to a carousel, a walking spider, battle robot and lastly a tank. Really cool.

Rayerd-X was really amazing and totally awed the crowds here in Tokyo at the Robo-One 9 competition. In the technical demonstration phase it placed #24th. The robot that literally ran away with that phase of the competition was Maeda’s OmniZero.2, which you can see in action in this post - http://www.robots-dreams.com/2006/03/roboone_9_omniz.html The robot is so realistic and fluid that you quickly start to assume its actually alive.
