Ron Mueck Photo Realistic Sculptures

Ron Mueck(1958- ), is an Australian photo realistic artist whose company is based in London. Born to parents who were toy makers, his early career was a model maker and puppteer for children’s television and films. After establishing his company in London, he made models to be photographed for advertisements. In the early 90s, Mueck commissioned to make something highly realistic. His new models were made from Fiberglass resin, after he found out that this was the ideal material to be used for his realistic models. |
The picture aboves shows his sculpture ‘Boy’ which was a feature in the Millennium Dome (a large dome shaped building in London) and later exhibited in the Venice Bienalle(a major contemporary art exhibition that takes place in odd years). 4 links are 2 more pics after the jump.
Mueck has posted his lifelike scultures at shows at major galleries in New York, Germany as well as the Millenium Dome in London.
In 2002, his sculpture Pregnant Woman was purchase by the Natinoal Gallery of Australia for AU$800,000.

I think his work is fantastic as does everyone here. I am not interested in if the exhibit will come to my area. I just want to know where the next exhibit so I can go to it. Wherever it is in the U.S. or Canada I am there. His work gives me a visceral feeling. That is the only way i can possibly describe it. So I read he will be in TEXAS til Oct 21. But I just discovered this with a little more than a week until that time and don’t think I can swing it. Can anyone post here the NEXT exhibit. Any ideas?

I contacted the fort worth musuem in Texas by email .. they reponsed by email and said his work would be displayed at the Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh. i looked on that site but it doesn’t come up. I’m going to call during open hours.
I would also love to be on a mailing list or know where to find his schedule

Sleeping and Dreaming exhibits range from work by artists Ron Mueck and Goya through to a victim of sleep deprivation interrogation talking about his experiences; a vehicle designed to provide homeless people with a mobile place to sleep; bizarre alarm clocks (one of which fires a pistol to ensure the sleeper gets up) and a large bed that visitors can lie on and listen to traditional lullabies.

i am just so so damn surprised to see so much perfection in his work. i wish i could meet him or get to see any of his exhibition..i dont know wot to say, i am speechless..this guys great…his hands creat such a magic..i wish i could learn this art from him . please anyone tell me how to approach him.

I am desparate to see this brilliant artist’s work in person and take my children. Would someone PLEASE give me some info as to where his work can be seen?
