those are actually pictures taken from a book called “chindogu” which is a complation of FAKE inventions. I first saw that book in the early 90′s translated and distributed in America.

Actually, they’re not fake, but they’re not supposed to be useful. A proper “Chindogu” is supposed to solve one problem but at the same time create at least one more, bigger, problem. It’s a hobby of sorts, I guess. I think it’s awesome.
A Chindogu is supposed to be so useless, in fact, that it’s an “unuseless invention”.

[...] Last weekend me and Yerrow Yallow visited Little Tokyo because she wants more manga and I want more pens… Yes I have this weird fascination with G-tec pens. Actually, I really love them so much I bought like 2 dz of black refills and 1 dz red refill that I had shipped from the Philippines… Or was it Taiwan… ._. I forgot where I placed the receipt. Anyway, yes I wanted more upon learning that there are more than black, blue and red colors. I don’t put them on display ~_~ I use them and I use them a lot because I write a lot. Getting back on track, xD~ We first visited a rooftop Japanese Garden. It was rather small than we expected but it was pretty. I wanted to take some pictures of it but unfortunately I’m such a genius that I forgot my camera at home. Fun isn’t? Now I wanted to visit a Zen Garden… *looks at Yerrow Yallow* After the garden we went straight to Kino. While browsing the shop, I noticed that there we’re a couple of kids (non-asian) who we’re wearing those Naruto headbands and pestering the other customers because they can’t read japanese characters… *Sighs* For some reason or another I am actually embarassed for them. I don’t think I’ll ever have the guts to wear something like that on public not unless I’m cosplaying. Then again I’m shy to cosplay… More of like I’d rather not scare the little kids away… xD~ We also found hair magazines and nail magazines…Unfortunately for me, the hair cuts in the hair magazine have bangs in it and I don’t like bangs coz it makes my face itchy ;_; and the nail magazine… well the price is too much for me. D: Oh another interesting find was book about failed Japanese inventions. Some are… (I’ll make up the names because I didn’t get them xD) a lip stick stencil – where you place the stencil in your mouth to prevent misses when putting on your lipstick ( err… ) cockroach swatting slippers – where there are handles at end of your slippers and use it to whack away bugs ( +_+ i wonder if the one who invented it have a hard time walking with two sticks extending from the end of his/her slippers) a smoke mask – where a gas mask infused with holes so you can smoke more than one cigarette (talk about being high on nicotine… ewww) Nose Plug in – where you plug your nose with a erm plugger (lol) with screens so that your nose will not gather dusts ( lawl the person looked like he has mini gas mask up her nose) 360 degree panoramic camera – it’s just a bunch of camera turned into one err hat around your head… 10 in one gardening tool – talk about one big army swiss knife the noodle eater’s hair guard – imagine those cones for the dogs except it’s for humans… lol and Azu’s favorite… a plunger with a handle that you can use when you ride a train or bus, and there’s like not enough space or you can’t reach the handle bars… some pictures founds here [...]

The 360 degree panoramic camera is pretty cool and might actually be useful. In fact, all of these could be very, very useful. None are actually useless. They just look stupid is all. They need to perfect the appearance aspect.
