Another bridge that may deserve to be mentioned is the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. It is the widest bridge in the world, and the one of the most famous attractions in Sydney (after the Opera House).

FYI, the Golden Gate does not connect San Francisco to Oakland, it connects SF to Marin. The Bay Bridge connects San Francisco to Oakland, which BTW is being replaced.

Another bridge that might be mentioned is the long bridge on the Chang Jiang (aka Yangtze) near Nan Jing. It’s something the regime was very proud of at the time it opened (I’d say around 1960 without double-checking). The bridge was visited by several Chinese and some foreign presidents and is today still a popular attraction to those visiting Nanjing. It is rather long, and has two levels. Actually, railway traffic between Beijing and Shanghai was not possible without interruption and transfer before this bridge was built.

I think what is named here as Richmond Bridge in the UK is actually the historic bridge of Heidelberg in Germany.

Lovely pictures! If I hadn’t been in some of the places and seen these lovely bridges for myself I would think they are airbrushed. Nowadays lot of people prefer to live near these beautiful sights. In my Richmond BC real estate office more and more people turn up with the specific preference of living near such sights. Anyway it is worth visiting these places, they are absolutely wonderful. I know this sounds a bit commonplace but these were the words that came to my mind…

I have been in many of these places and I think there is one mistake: what you call Richmond Bridge of London is in fact a bridge of Heidelberg in Germany
