i don’t understand why this tall building is being built in jabalpur ? why not in bombay ? bombay is the financial capital of india and so i feel bombay deserves the talest building in the world to add to it’s life. and why not make it thinner and taller rather than wider and taller. and there is enough space in bombay to build the tallest building in the world. no place in bombay is not an excuse. so there is a lot of problem cropping up. and now the politicians will step in. and atleast make the building look more modern and not make it look like a temple because people of all religions will visit the tower not only hindus. and it’s great to know that we’re gonna have the tallest building in the world and so we do not have to go abroad to see the towers. hurrayyyyyyyyyy !!

Are you kidding me!?! This so-called structure they are planning to put in India looks like the architects didn’t even know what modern architecture is. If you want to see some pretty nice buildings, look at New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Oh, and this skyscraper, if ever the tallest, will be overshadowed by the soon-finished Fordham Spire in Chicago, also Burj Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Trust me, I have seen plans for massive skyscrapers over the past few years. And, the Petronas Towers are not the tallest buildings in the world. It is Taipei 101, in Taipei, Taiwan. Anyways, I was looking in a book recently and some Asian country was planning on constructing a 4,028 foot skyscraper, with 300 floors in it. It is called Bionic Tower. If you don’t believe me, go on Google Images or Yahoo Images and type in Bionic Tower. And, this building will be looking up to the new Freedom Tower in New York City. So, I wouldn’t get your hopes too high for this new Indian skyscraper.

buddy, get ur facts right…india has only 25% people living on the footpath, not 40%. That is alright compared giants like the US who have 10% people living below the poverty line. That can be quite unbelievable. Also, India is the 3rd biggest source for migration of doctors, scientists and ENGINEERS, so it by far capable of not only starting this project, but completing it in a few years. However, I personally reckon the Noida Tower will be started and finished quicker than this project and it will overall be better. It wouldve been better if it was built in the best city in India when it comes to cleaniness and infrastructre, Chandigarh…

Excuse me, but have any of you ever heard of what REALITY is. India, with 25% percent of their population on the poverty line, who has spent so long building up their economy, would not waste all over their money on some ridiculous project like this. Also, it will be a few years before this project will end construction, let alone START construction. So, things like Burj Dubai, Freedom Tower, Bionic Tower, Noida Tower, Port Tower, and so on will overshadow it by the time it is done. So, India will most likely never earn title of the tallest building.

neets, u r right. SEZ’s (Special Economic Zone) are being built all over India, with 13 made in New Delhi alone. I have personally been allowed entry into one, and the infrastructure and development going on there is unbelievable. One of the best malls which can be classified into various categories are there, the standard of living is just unbelievable. You have to buy property to live in these zones, which can start from as little as $800,000 USD for 20 square meter houses to mansions worth millions. Skyscrapers would enhance the image of SEZ’s.

There will be a building in Dubai called the Al Burj, it will surpass the burj dubai by almost 1,000 feet. Although this building is only proposed, if it is built it will absolutely the tallest in the world. The burj dubai is going to be 818 m and 2,684 ft to the top of the spire. The building is already the second tallest in the world at 498.2 metres (1,635 ft) and needs 3 more floors to pass the Taipei 101. Burj Dubai is only 60% done. The Al burj is set to be 1,011 meters (3,317 feet) when completed.

BTW, the CN Tower will still have one title even after the burj dubai is built. The worlds highest outdoor observaion deck. At lease until the Shanghai World Financial Center is built. I think, Maybe even not the CN Tower might still beat out that to keep the tallest outdoor oservation deck.

It doesn’t take a lot to plan a building… I mean really, I have plans to build the world’s tallest building in my mums backyard. It’l be about 800 miles tall, an inverted pyramid, and contain one apartment, on sale for approximately 9 bazillion dollars.

building it… well thats the rub.

But seriously… its good to see anything good come out of India; everybody’s favorite emerging superpower should start looking up.

The whole concept of the World’s Tallest Building is entirely pomp and pride. Yes, infrastructure is great, but wouldn’t, say, an effective food delivery system benefit the Indian people to a greater extent?

On the other hand, the asthetics of this are a great relief from the cold-shiny-boxes-that-all-reek-like-mid-80s-America bumf that grips most modern architecture. When India finally starts building up, they’ll be doing it with that refreshingly different style.

Oh, and no skyscraper should be built in Mumbai. It’s a swamp with no good bedrock for starters, and what’r they going to do, clear out the slums?

The buildings should be made in New Delhi or Chandigarh.

There was one thing I thought I should mention on this forum:

After reading all these articles from numerous people, one thing I found irritating was the lack of confidence expressed through these articles, especially by ‘skyscraper’.

      This is what I mean:
‘Excuse me, but have any of you ever heard of what REALITY is. India, with 25% percent of their population on the poverty line, who has spent so long building up their economy, would not waste all over their money on some ridiculous project like this.’

What ‘skyscraper’ doesn’t understand is that more than half of these projects are funded by NRI people (Non-Resident Indian). So the actual residents of India do not have to worry about wasting their money on a project like this because they are promoted by NRI’s. And trust me, there are many NRI ‘billionaires’ to name a few:
*Lakshmi Niwas Mittal (Richest man in Europe, an Indian ;) , Third richest man in the world, $32 bn.)
*Azim Premji (58th on Forbes list, 6.8 Billion Pounds to his name)
Mukesh Ambani-Anil Ambani ($6 Billion, 63rd on Forbes list)
Kumaramanglam Birla ($6 Billion Birla Group Industry to his name)
In all India has 36 billionaires, past Japans 24 billionaires, and all the Indian billionaire wealth is $191 Billion USD. India also has the most billionaires in all of Asia.

Many people underestimate India’s potential to be a ‘super-power’. In all aspects India is fundamentally stable now and always was before the British reign. Before the 1700′s India was the second (to China) and at times the richest country for over 500 years. Check all these facts on the internet for evidence.

reading few of the comments, I just want to mention a few things. I got no doubt about the ability of Indians who can do miracles. somebody mentioined about the Indian born billionairs living in India and abroad; do you have any Idea about the Indian born millionnairs living in India and abroad??? And the tallest or the massive building to be build in India; If any one in our country take initiative to do something like that, I would be glad to donate the first dollar and be a part of it. Our growth is more than our expectations, that is for sure.

Development of our Cities, for example, Cochin; When we compare to many other cities in India, the population and the traffic is comparatively small in Cochin. But people still have to deal with traffic problems.

      My suggestion:

If any organization, can come forward to call for an all party, and all community meeting and put forward a traffic congestion clearance plan like over passes or elevated roads over the existing roads and elevated trains or trams, with the help of a brainy city planner from india or abroad, and with the common goal of the prosperity of the city, sign together to move on and excicute without making any hindrence to the plan agreed up on. The mega project can be considered as a general interest project other than putting it on somebody’s credit. I mean not to name an organization or party to have a special privilage for the project. or simply call it “PEOPLE’S PROJECT”.

no matter who rules, “PEOPLES PROJECT ” is a credit for the people who is getting benifited from it. And i believe, we would be able to see more and more “PEOPLE’S PROJECTS’ one after the other in future and the transformation as well.

Who cares where it is built? The great thing with the Burj in Dubai is that it was designed by US Architects and built by a South Korean company, both of whom employ people from all over the world. Designers on all kinds of sepcialities are there from all over. It is a great example of skills being taken from everyone to build a magnificent project in this world of ours. Lets get past borders! I have no doubt we could build a new one in India, Iceland or Uruguay for that matter. The reality is that the Burj Dubai will be the tallest finished building when done (tallest unfinished one at the moment but Taipei 101 is tallest finished) and then we will look for the next project wherever that may be. I dont care where it is but I would sure like to visit it.

This project has not been started even now. So giv up hope for this king of building in jabalpur. If u want to see the reality then go to jabalpur & see what is happening there. There are just a some boards regarding this project. In reality maharshi had taken a wrong path to get money by advertising this project in foreign countries & collected a lot of money .

besides this there are many building of height more than 400m are going to be built.
      e.g. noida tower(not confirmed yet),diamond tower (confirmed),APIIC,linco hills etc

Hi all, I read almost all comments. One main thing is Dubai can develop like a buildings like Burj. Because they have less population and high yearnings[from fuel]. But In the case of India it is very large and a high population.{worlds 2nd}. I don’t know how much than Dubai. So need to solve the problems of food, water and basic things. So if we make a big building like this this is quite appreciable.

Tallest building??? why? what’s the use of it?
to show that we too are stupid to “waste” money?
like some other countries who borrow from others to show to the world “the biggest/tallest”?
why not spending money on humanitarian activities? why not eradicating poverty, and all social evils?
and if there is someone to build the tallest building let him collect the money of some 10000 rich (not richest) people and build 4 flats per floor. Let’s see what comes out, instead of building useless things.

why not? in major metropolitian cities like bombay delhi kolkata chennai and hyderabad.it should be definately in one of this five cities not in remote area like jabalpur .moreever if the building is common or useful for the whole society[world] then only people like to come have their time spend there but if is going to the onlr indian region building that what about other religion people india is free country worshiped by all god theier own choice so any monument built by govrnment or by any public entrprenar should always consider the whole nation. so i strongly suggest to build the tallest building in the world in india to be use ful for the whole nation may be abusiness or a mamoth shoping mallthat also in the well developed and good transport facility available place.because it must be also a massive tourist attractive place.

Should India needs to have the tallest building? I don’t think it’s a bad idea but what we need first is changing our life style – a clean neat, tidy streets and towns especially in the north, south is not much different.
Our politicians, most of them are like Kamaldi – I mean the Commonwealth Games chief. Once they become an MP they do not sleep in government quarters, they need five star hotels otherwise they won’t get sleep and they won’t allow anybody to sleep, doing all types of “horse trading”. What a wonderfull country? Most of the people willing to surrender themselves to the Europeans if they get “something” from them. Our politicians and business people and the so called elites cheats the country and submit billions to the foreigners. Now the present Government is under the tune of US. People should start to think of SELF ESTEEM and PATRIOTISM or else what’s the use of a huge building- it is something like a monkey with tie and hat. I feel more to write but ……..

It is a huge shame for India being a host! rather India should spend thier money to overcome the people problems, especially on sanitation, welfare, slumps. I dont have confidence of India having skycrappers for the moment. It might be creating more problems to India’s economic growth – deficit, debts for multibillion skyscrapper.. The socio-economic demographic of India is different than other countries in East Asia, South East Asia & Middle-East. It takes uttermost long time for India to reach as a modern development country. But who knows India will be well develop in future =)
