World’s Most Dangerous Road

The North Yungas Road in Bolivia is legendary of its extreme danger killing about 100 travellers annually. The road descends from 12,000 ft(3600 m) to 1000 ft(330m) transitioning from a cool altiplano terrain to rain forest. Link and 4 more pics after the jump. |

The road is much scarier than it looks in pics. I lived in Bolivia for 2 years. I’ve been down that road on a bus. It’s unbelievable. We actually saw a bus going flying right off the edge!!!!

well if you decide to come to Bolivia, you can do it on bike now, its a great experience and if you come use Vertigo Biking Co., Bolivians manage that company, who knows better the road than tourists

Though it is a dangerous road but it is very attractive, can I know who was constructor of that road? and how was it constructed?

is that the most dangerous road? …give me a break, I thought I’d find the roads in the North Pole which no doubts are THE MOST DANGEROUS ROADS on earth. Please, next time before posting something like , do not label it like “the most” because you really have to see what I am talking about, and you will agree with me. You can find even pictures on the web and information about this timing bombs.

I thought the road to my town is the only road dangerous in the world. But the Bolivian Yugas is the same with my main road to my place….
I think this road is even wider than my place. in my place you can look down to the bottom wooowooo dangerous…., from the bus….

The Mosy dangerous road in the world is one of the many ice roads (that you may have seen on “Ice Road Truckers”) This is because they are just roads naturally formed by ice and you have to watch your step because any part of the ice could break at any time and you’d fall through the ice and there’s no way out, you’d die. So this isn’t the MOST dangerous road, it’s one of the most.
Just thought I’d let you know.
