Wait. I just went to the Otium website, and realized I got a couple wrong.
#3 is 7:53. The last ball in the outside position is the hour, the hand is the minutes. It's not 8:53 because the ball in position 8 is not yet in the extreme outside position.
#5 is 7:32. The opposite-color ball bearing is between the 7 and 8, and minute hand says :32.

Let's see how many I can get...
1. 6:07 or 6:08
2. 4:15. I read it like this: the number pointing at the minutes is the hour, and the number pointed at is the minute.
3. I'm not sure, could be 1:40 (hour=last down, minute=last up), 1:45 (hr=last down, min=first down), 2:40 or 2:45 (hour=first up); all with :53 seconds (middle hand). Or 10:42 (hour=center hand, min=[last up x 10] + first up), or 10:41 (min=[last up x 10] + last down), or 10:46 (min=[first down x 10] + last down), or 10:47 (min=[first down x 10] + first up). If I saw it in motion I could probably get it right.
4. 12:30 (according to Doro). Left side of the cutout in the black disc is the hour, and the point where the two color segments meet is the minute. Just guessing, knowing the time it reads.
5. I would guess approximately 8:30, but the picture says 7:32. Probably the hour is the one below the one that's lit up.
6. 2:00. The diamond-covered clock face is the minutes, and it moves around to show the hour.
7. 2:10. It says so in the picture but I guessed 2:10 before I saw that.
8. Likely 10:40:02. Read from the outside in.

How do you get that? How I read it is last ticked is hour; hand plus number of first ticked is minutes.

The first watch, specifically, is the Vacheron Constantin Mercator. Versions are available with a number of different old maps as backgrounds. Goes for $15000 and up at auction depending on the case material.

The second watch is the Audemars Piguet Star Wheel. $8000+ at auction. Urwerk makes watches in this style as well.

Those interested in clever watch display should check out the timepieces made by Vincent Calabrese.

Matt: "Where can I get that first watch? It's awesome."

Try looking up the name, Vacheron Constantin. That said, even second hand ones are worth thousands.

Guess I should have done my searching before I posted. Informaiton on Otium watches, plus some instructions on reading the time: http://www.gwatch.com/otium.html #3 is 7:53, and I'm convinced that the 7:32 shown for #5 is incorrect.

Noticed that a couple of them have the time printed on the picture. #5 is 7:32 (I would also have guessed 8:30) and #7 is 2:10.
I don't understand why the 1o'clock slot isn't "ticked" in #3, but the hand position seems consistent with 10:40 or :45.
Otherwise, I agree.
