I don’t believe those are all photographs.. I think some are photo-realistic digital art pieces, especially the houses with the snow, ice doesn’t form like that without producing some icicles does it? And also the one below it, there are barely any more ships like that still around and the camera angle is a little difficult. The sky looks digital.

In response to the comment left by emilie, snow needs to melt in order for icicles to form so if it was cold there would have been no icicles. But I agree that the pic with the ship and the sunset looks a bit unreal. The one with the church and the frosted trees looks a bit unreal to me. If the trees were all frosted, wouldn’t the church be too?

Chea wow. That windmill pic is astonishing. The color effect is awsome. Oh and so is the antique ship with the nice sunset. It does look a little too good. But they are amazing. All of them are.

The snowscene is a form of infrared photography superimposed under a normal shot of the scene with the building minus the original background. Really cool effect.

Take a quick look at the sail boat shadow in the red sunset scene.
How can a shadow be thrown at the right side, when light comes from behind?

Thank God for digital manipulation! Otherwise, many of these photos wouldn’t look as good as they do.

These are not paintings or digitally created images, they are HDR – High dynamic range – photographs. Google HDR for more examples. If you’ve got a digital camera with an AEB function – auto exposure bracketing then you too can take photos like these.
