| White Peacock
The White Peacock is frequently mistaken for an albino, but it is a colour variety of Indian Blue Peacock. Its white colour makes it looks really magnificent and elegant.

I live in SW lower Michigan. In a very tiny town surrounded by farms. Last summer a white peacock appeared across the road from me and hung around that guys property all summer. No one seems to know where it came from. Lately it’s discovered my yard. (I keep bird feeders out and there is always some seed on the ground, and have lots of evergreen bushes it likes to shelter under.) I took pictures just this morning of it sitting on my husbands car.
This bird is gorgeous and I’m happy it likes my place, but I wonder where it came from? I never saw one fly, do they? Could it have actually flown here? I would think if someone bought this bird it would be hanging around their house.

WHEN MY MOTHER PASSED ON LAST YEAR, I PRAYED TO GOD THAT HE WOULD HONOR ONE LAST CONVERSATION I WANTED HER TO HEAR.
I HAD ASKED HIM FOR A SIGN TO CONFIRM THAT SHE SPECIFICALLY HEARD MY TALK OR THAT GOD WOULD SPECIFICALLY DELIVER EVERY WORD OF THE CONVERSATION TO HER .
I ASKED HIM TO SHOW ME A PURE WHITE BIRD, WITHIN A 30 DAY PERIOD. THIS BIRD WOULD HAVE TO BE SEEN IN THE NATURAL AND WILD, NO PICTURES, NO CAGED BIRDS, NO TELEVISION, MOVIE , ETC,,, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A PURE WHITE BIRD THAT WOULD CROSS MY PATH BEFORE MY MOMS BIRTH DATE.
WHAT I DID END UP SEEING ABOUT 7 DAYS AFTER THE PRAYER WAS A BEAUTIFUL WHITE PEACOCK.
THEN I CAME TO FIND OUT IT WAS A SYMBOL OF RESURRECTION LIFE, WHOLENESS, AND ETERNAL LIFE.

My husband and I just stopped at the Maryhill Museum , in Washington State. We got to see a white peacock and thought it was albino. Thanks for the the information

We found a white peacock strutting around our neighborhood today. I spoke to a friend in the next neighborhood over and she said they have one as well. Are they wild? Should we capture them? They are so gorgeous. The one in our neighborhood appears to have some tail feathers falling out. I hope it’s still there in the morning. I guess we’ll hear it. Man is it loud.

A white peacock just came and joined our chickens in their coup ( I guess it likes the food). The chickens don’t know what to think of this large intruder; they keep a safe distance.
It’s roosting in a pine tree outside our bedroom window. When the roosting starts, it makes screeching noises that sound like a cat. Doesn’t last long though, but I’m not sure what tonight will bring.
We are excited about our guest and hopes it stays a while.

Recently, being unhappy with our business, and living in California, I asked God for a sign of hope to bring me some peace of mind. Today, three days after my request, a white peahen appeared from nowhere outside our door. Saying nothing, I simply went up to her and picked her up. She nestled right into me. She is sweet and affectionate, and we have named her Belle. To my knowledge, no one has peacocks in our area. I spent an afternoon asking around and no one has ever seen a peacock here – ever. Where could she possible have come from? Could she have been unhappy in her previous home? I cannot fathom it. She is so lovely.

During my last week before moving from the Cocoa Beach Fl area I saw a most beautiful white peacock on my drive to work. Traffic on all directions stoped on the A1A. People were pouring out of their cars. Initially I could not see what it was. At first I assumed a turtle was trying to cross the road as the area is known as one of their nesting grounds. Then I saw it, first a few birds that appeared to be turkeys, but later realized they were peahens, there he was with his long flowing tail drifing across the roadway as if in a dream. I don’t know if it brought me luck, but I am a spiritual person. The weekend I had to head for California to be closer to my mom as she was terminall ill with stage IV pancreatic cancer. When I made it to my final destination my car broke down. The mechanic could not believe I made it across the United States in one piece. My radiator had cracked through and through, my AC had several leaks, and my motor mounts were starting to crumble due to rust. The only thing I could think of was the white peacock as if he was granting me safe passage on the road to make it to my Mom’s house after 11 years in the service. She has passed on, but thankfull for the blessing I received days before my journey.

I served in the military for a long time, I was diagnosed with severe PTSD and Systematic Lupus, which has caused damage in my brain, I am dying, I have a dear friend I love very much, she loves peacocks, specially white one, her birthday is coming up on the 8th of February 2010. I just want to to give her this gift, I live in washington state, seattle area, I just want a feather to show my dear friend how pure and eternal our friendship is.

We live on an old farm in Southwest Ohio and we have been seeing a white peacock hanging around with a group of wild turkeys. Peacocks are not native so it must be an escaped pet. It seems to be happy with its wild turkey friends. I think they eat similar seeds etc.
I have seen peacocks at the zoo (but not a white one) even during the winter months. They let them walk around and they fly into the trees to roost at night. And yes they can be very loud!

There is a white peacock at the Saskatoon zoo in Saskatoon Sask Canada. It is the most beautiful bird around. All the peacocks run a round the zoo and you can actually feed them.

There are a party of peafowl that live wild on my street. About 5 males + several hens + babies. One of the males is pure white. They have been there over 30 years escaping coyotes and cars. They are beautiful and very friendly.

We were lucky enough to see 4 white peacocks on our visit to a wildlife sanctuary near Rockhampton in Queensland Australia this year. I never knew they existed, it would of been wonderful if they male had expanded his feathers. We have taken photo’s and our friends can’t wait to see them, as they never knew of white peacocks either.

Yesterday (7/7/10) my daughter hollered to me to look out the window, she said there are 2 big white chickens in the backyard….only they weren’t chickens, they were pure white peahens.
My husband who is an avid hunter and country boy, confirmed my female peacock conclusion.
We took a couple photos and a snippet of video….if anyone wants to see check my facebook.
We live in a rural area of NE Ohio.
I have been told that seeing the white peacocks/hens is supposed to bring you good luck (yep bought me a mega millions ticket for the next drawing, lol)…We also have spotted an albino buck back behind our home. I was also told that seeing all white animals or ghost animals is a sign of good fortune brought on by the spirit world according to indian folklore…not sure how much of any of it is true.

We have peacocks and this year our peahen hatched a white peachick. We are not sure what sex it is yet.

We have a breeding pair of white peacocks here in New Zealand (called “Sir Percy” and “Lady Penelope”)and they have just had a couple of cute wee chicks! I was told that white peacocks could only be born from white peacock parents but going by some of the comments on here white babies can appear in clutches from the the indian blue parents? Will be interesting to see if it works the other way and one of these babies might turn out to be blue!? They are the most lovley birds and Im not sure if they bring luck but they are certainly a joy to have roaming in our garden!

Hi Carmen over there in NZ. We are in UK and we breed Indian Blue Peacocks.
Imagine my suprise today to find in one of my incubators a creamy/yellow chick!
Our’ Sir Percy’ and one of his ‘wifelets’ ‘Phoebe’ produced this chick. I have noticed in the past that their chicks have sometimes had white feathers here and there! Maybe it is a white one.
How are your babies turning out?

I am looking for a pair of white peacocks for our wedding venue. We have a really large garden – I think they would be happy here. Do you know where I could get these in New Zealand? Did your peacock babies turn out to be white?
