Elevator Floor Illusion

Going into this elevator would certainly makes one nervous. A sign at the entrance cautions the people that goes in about work in progress. A more detailed look shows that the floor has been painted with an illusion that there is no floor. 3 more pics after the jump. |

La ilusión del ascensor sin suelo…
El suelo de este ascensor está pintado para dar la impresión de que no hay suelo, y ciertamente lo consiguen. Solo hay que ver al que entra sentandose sobre el posamanos para darse cuenta de que no está muy tranquilo… :D…

Why is it that the second photograph (just the shaft image) is such a different proportion of wall to abyss? Has it been distorted… or is that the original image that a photoshopped elevator picture was later created from? My guess is the latter. …but a cool concept nontheless.

My guess this doesn’t look nearly as cool in person, since we can see depth (3d). Looks convicing in photos but in reality probably looks like any other painting. i.e. NOT REAL.

More one of those rough images of Photoshop. The guy in the image was trying to kill a cockroach. They puts another image over the bottom in the principal target.

Pretty obviously an edit, the pits dont match, and the sign is missing in one, if anyone can prove this true, please i ask you to do so as this is so cool. Yet I am wary on its validity. Also are these many different elevators? is this a common thing to do wherever this is?

Because in order for the illusion to look real, the floor image would have to be stretched lengthwise. It’s called foreshortening.
