Naked Volkswagen
Hemmings Autoblog has a few pictures of a naked volkswagen. The metal work is definitely praise worthy but it doesn’t seem to be a functional automobile since the engine part is not visible. It is most probably a haul around for show. If it was functional, it would not have survive the rain. 2 more pics after the jump.

If you follow the exhaust pipes, they lead in short order to the engine.

Why do you say the engine isn’t visible? Its right there in the first picture. I wonder if the doors open. Or do they climb in through the window, praying they dont break something in the process.

The engine is indeed there. In fact, it almost certainly runs. You forget that old beetles had the engines in the REAR of the vehicle. The large silver tank seen in the first picture behind the back seat is presumably the “chopper” gas tank.
