Some of them are really funny, like the door with life size stickers of people on it that slide away from you when the door opens, only to see a sign about deodorant when you walk in the door. hahaha Check em out! Creative? Yes. Innovative? Yes. But still, no amount of creative advertising will get me to buy something
I am not in the market for or don’t really need. I often wonder how much less products would cost if companies didn’t spend so much money in extravagent advertising. All you people here seem so amazed
but if you think about it, one of the key ingredients to thinking outside the box like these adverts show is
Independant thinking. Something like what I am doing here? You can spend millions on advertising but that does not neccesarilly a good product make. How good is the quality? What materials are used? How safe is it? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? This is akin to campaigns in politics. Some people are wowed by a candidates good looks, charisma, wittiness etc… I want to know what the candidates background is, political ideology, his platform, his policies and how he/she will implement them. I use the same discernment in my purchasing decisions. To me, advertising companies are no different than political spin machines. Mostly smoke and mirrors.

These are all very clever and would seem very effective in getting people to notice their message. I can’t agree with the idea that they’re being disrespectful of the signage. It’s basically just another sign and doesn’t require any more than a moment of interaction. Plus, it’s familiar signage that gets the point across instantly. It can and probably is ignored for the most part. I look at it as another step on the pop art landscape.

The most innovative, eye catching and effective ad was Folgers ad….

***As roads are the place where you always look while walking or driving so you tend to notice such things….

***Also unlike shopping malls which has to be filled with various promos and ads you really dont expect ads in the roads…so you tend to retain the ad for long in your mind….

Very good ads. However i am still amazed at how advertising is making us buy, buy and buy some more. It is a religion in itself as people are paid millions to make yu and i buy stuff…and mostly stugff you never needed in the first place…its called commercialism and it is pretty destructive. How? i hear you ask…well coming fro the UK one of the problmes is debt! our country is in a significant anmount of debt and when you are in debt you are bound by that debt…bit like a chain and ball…i see so many people bound and struggle becuase of debt and adverts like these are not just good adverts they are pulling us in to seperate us from our money. something to think about!?! God bless ya’ll!

Why did most of these take me a minute to “see” what was going on? The one with the women trying on dresses in the storefront mirror, for some reason, took me about three minutes to get it!.. All very good in there unique way. The Maid, is my favorite. A close second is the ‘wrong job’ one. Both of those are opportunistic advertisements that must have been scouted to some degree. It takes a person or a couple people with the right eyes to see moments like that. These ads bring the art appreciation into advertising. Has there ever been a truly masterful genius of the opportunistic advertising realm?..

These are some great ideas. Most of them wouldn’t fly in North America due to our stringent and encumbering laws here. For example the Duracell batteries on the power box would get Duracell sued by the city. It’s hard to be creative these days… people say every thing’s already been done, it has for the most part. I’ve researched over 20 ideas I’ve had any they’re all copyrighted or patented and have made someone else millions of dollars. It’s depressing. I rely on the weekly lotto to make me rich now.

Rant… in these days of centralization, do more for less money jobs we find ourselves with huge numbers of unemployed people (this includes anyone over 20 working fast food or walmart type jobs that don’t pay enough to put a person above the poverty line, because honestly society should understand that these jobs cannot be considered “humane”) and fewer jobs paying less than they should for the work thats being done. Example: Centralized systems monitoring for multiple companies from one location which employs very few people. Companies outsource large sections of their IT departments and reduce the number of employable jobs by millions across the country. This type of action is disgusting and is ruining the economy. The economy is good you say? Sure it is when we send our children off to school where they need 8 years of education before they can even enter the workforce at a respectable wage. Don’t forget the debt that’ll be over their head for the next ten years! We wouldn’t want our children to be able to buy a house before their 40 would we? Why do we do we allow this to happen? Secondary education ruined my life! If I hadn’t gone to school I’d have a house and two cars paid off by now working in a metal fabrication plant… I enjoyed that job but I thought it was the right, the “normal” thing to do to go to school… Thanks mom and dad you built a shit society for me to live in where everyone’s too afraid of the government to stand up for their own rights. Where people have forgotten that the government is there for US and we don’t hold anyone accountable for wasting billions of dollars supporting foreign countries when we need help at home! Whats wrong with this line of thinking? NOTHING? Help your family first Canada! AHHH!

    361. Alex said

      January 8, 2008 @ 7:44 am

I mean, come on… if the USA cut their beef production by 75% they could use the grain and livestock feed to eliminate world hunger. Personally I’d give up McDonalds and beef if I knew that in turn there was never going to be another hungry mouth anywhere on the planet. Isn’t that a fair trade?

Without hunger think of what those billions of starving people could accomplish for themselves. Without having to struggle 18 hours a day to find enough food to survive they could educate themselves, build communities and be happy… growth could take place.

If the world was managed properly people could work 3 day’s a week 8 hours a day and everyone could live the life of someone who makes a really good salary in North America. The leaders of the world currently keep our wallets slim enough to keep us working, keep us occupied so we don’t think too much, so we don’t get out of hand. Idle hands do the devils work. That’s how the leaders see it. The goal for the leaders in North America at least is to keep everyone busy enough that there are no riots and everything is calm, in France they riot all the time. The people are in control there, not the government. Thats how it should be. I think we need more riots. We need to keep the government in line not the other way around!

this has just turned into a rant… lots of random stuff that doesn’t make much sense I’m sure but if someone likes what they heard let me know… atkinson1982@gmail.com

P.S. I’m not anti anything… I’m pro world without conflict, hunger or hard times.

Turning something so icky and useless into a delicious advertisement that seems to scream “pick me up” is genius! What with all the “ad” people in the world now a days it’s hard to get noticed and have an ad that sticks out and sets you apart from the rest of the world. I think these are all clever ideas!. Now about the mouse under the skirt that AXE did….c’cmon now that’s just tacky.

These ads are very smart and creative. The messages are all quick and easy to grasp, and they do leave a lasting impression. I agree that it is more and more difficult to get noticed, since billbaords just dont cut it anymore. I dont blame companies for taking it out on the streets where there is definite interaction with the public. But what will happen when guerilla marketing also clutters up? What will the next step in “standing out” be?

      May 27, 2008 @ 7:29 am

[...] Very Creative Advertising With all of the same ol’ hum drum ads I normally see, I was refreshed to find these unique and highly ingenious ads: A print of a cup of Folgers coffee was placed on top of manhole covers in New York City, USA. Holes on the print allows the steam to come out. Wordings around the cup reads ?Hey, City That Never Sleeps. Wake up.? from Folgers. A sticker has been placed on the high voltage box depicting that Duracell?s batteries were used. Cool advertisement found in Malaysia. A giant mirror was built that allowed passersby to stop and look at themselves wearing Indivi clothes at a shopping mall in Tokyo, Japan One for the guys of TF~ This controversial idea was done in Dubai by Sandeep Fernandes and Husen Baba Khan for the male deodorant, Axe. The mouse pad that every guy needs. Life size images were stuck on glass doors at shops, airports in South Africa for the advertisement of glass and window cleaner I.C.U. The expression on the face is priceless. A very cost-effective advertisement in Hong Kong for a yoga school. It showcases the prowess of a yoga practitioner on the flexible stems of drink straws. A surge of enquiries and enrollment went after up this promotional stunt. http://www.hemmy.net/2006/10/15/crea…und-the-world/ [...]

One for the auto industry and one for light bulbs. I have a job, commercials are just kind of a hobby for me. Would love to pitch my ideas. I am not greedy either. I would trade my car commercial for a car from the company that would use it. If anyone is interested I am in Indianapolis, In. My email is mizzou14@hotmail.com

Advertisement makes people aware of the current affairs. Also, to make them known about the new products in the market. All the companies want their product to be at top by advertising them lot. This way companies spend a lot of money to compete with other in the market. This helps advertising companies to make more money but also it makes their job harder.
This page evokes the creativity of the employees in some advertising company. These adds show how hard they have to work in order to create a fabulous advertisement to attract as many peoples as possible for the company. This takes a lot of time and creativity. This way the ad company over describes the product which helps the ad to go good and hike the demand of product in market. But gradually the demand decreases and it affects the company a lot. So, advertisemnts should be made within the quality and effectiveness of the products.
