Super Bad Days

Sorry guys but there probably won’t be any updates these few days. Home internet is down because telephone line is not working. This site was also suspended for high cpu usage, so I still need to optimize the php scripts and still working on a viable solution. Will be posting updates once the problems are solved. :P

Latest Update: I’m upgrading to the high cpu plan on my webhost www.bluehost.com. Will be updating as usual until the upgrade takes place in the near future. The upgrade would probably take around 24 hrs for the domain name to propogate through the DNS.

      Hi,

I’m owner of http://www.justelite.net. I saw that your website is hosted on BlueHost.Com and recently you have some problem with it. My website is wordpress too and you tell something about CPU overloading. How is possible?

I website is hosted on Netfirms and I have a lot of problem with downtime. 3 days in a row I have at least 1 h down time. So I plan to move to other webhosting company.

Beside your recently problem, how BlueHost.Com is it? It is fast and reliable? Has downtime? I study dreamhost and BlueHost and I want to make a good choice.

      Thank you for your help.

      Best regards,

Bluehost is a good choice. Its just that shared hosting has limitations since you are sharing space with a lot of other people on the same server. One server might have over a thousand clients and in Bluehost terms, you are limited to 20% of the cpu usage. Well I believe most other shared hosting has this limitation as well since it is value for money. The cpu usage is partly due to a huge surge of traffic on monday which saw 57k of visitors from digg, reddit and fark. I was contacted by Bluehost support that this site will get suspended again if it takes too much cpu resources. In regards to downtime, I believe Bluehost has minimal downtime in my six months experience with it. Most probably need to look at other options such as dedicated hosting where you are dedicated on a single server so cpu resources are abundant (This would cost USD50 a month at least). Hope that helps :P

57000 visitors! Wow! I think you might need to shift hemmy.net to a private server or something. I’m sure you can afford that with this kind of traffic you are getting :) Keep up the good work man!

I do not want to come across as spamming a host but, I am going to tell you my site is hosted by p4host.com. I have had them for a few years now with no major problems. If any problems do arise I can jump on my messenger and talk to somebody right then and have it fixed with no hassle. I just recently started visiting hemmy.net and enjoy it alot. Thanks

After much surfing, here’s my top 10 shared web hosting. (not in particular order)

      hostmonster
      bluehost
      lunarpages
      hostgator
      ixwebhosting
      startlogic
      dreamhost
      globat
      1and1.com
      anHosting

I know you have a different list than those listed above.

One of them caught my attention.
But doubtful… i did more surfing(read more forums comments & more reviews, etc.).

I found out that all of them have this in common…
      the CPU LIMIT.
Yes, they offer lots of space & bandwidth.
But here’s the catch: you use too much cpu… they suspend your account.
So as you can see, there’s no way your going near the bandwidth you paid for. What a bunch of liars!

That’s my research, you should do your own.
Help me find a better host.

      Tell me:

why you hate about your past web hosting?
who is your web hosting now?
how is your new web hosting is better than your previous one?

your website url? (so i can see how busy your site is.)
