Frilled Shark in Shallow Waters, Japan

A rare footage of a frilled shark in the shallow waters off the coast of Japan. Frilled sharks are usually found 2000 feet deep but this one found its way somehow into the shallow water. It belongs to a primitive shark species and is sometimes called a ‘living fossil’ as it resembles extinct species of sharks. The shark was taken to a nearby marine park but died soon afterwards.
