Beautiful Night Shots Of Yokohama, Japan

Great night shots of Yokohama which is the third largest city in Japan at night. The large Ferris wheel is one of the largest in the world with a capacity of 480 passengers and at a height of 112.5 metres. If the night shots entice you and still can’t get enough of it, here’s a Quicktime Panorama VR of Yokohama of which you can actually spot out some of the landmarks. 18 more pics afte the jump.

My family and I were stationed in Nagoya Japan in 1955, and the wonderful memory i have about Japan was their connection to the natural world, the beautiful japanese gardens, the tea ceremonies, the celebration of the chrythansium (sp?) during the august moon celebrations and the cherry blossom festivals, the celebration of nature everywhere ….from the art of flower arranging. Where are these pictures, while these pictures are great, it is not to me what Japan taught to me, the celebration of nature, from the smalllest villages to the big towns. To me. these pictures can be anywhere in the world, but the heritage of Japn cannot be found anywhere else and must not be lost to the skyscrapers .that type of architecture is everywhere, and not unusual to me.but sitting on a Tatami Mat and opening up the sliding doors to view the garden, in a beautiful Pagoda (sp?) is an experience I shall never forget. Arigato, Sayonara, (sp? . .

Not all of these are photos of Yokohama, for example, two of them are of Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.
March 24th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
some roppongi hills photos slipped in there too!
March 24th, 2007 at 1:36 pm
Not all of those pictures are of Yokohama. I think there are some from Odaiba, and one is taken of the Mori tower in Roppongi… which is about an hour away from Yokohama in downtown Tokyo. There’s also one of Tokyo Tower, which isn’t anywhere close to Yokohama… and I know this, because I live right next to it. (And now that I’ve been an overly-picky asshole lol… nice pictures, by the way.)

That first picture is familiar… honey and clover anyone? other than that, beautiful shots.

Awesome shots. What camera did you use? What settings? Did you use a tripod?
March 24th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
Get your fact straight, not all of these are Yokohama,
the pictures with the Tokyo Tower are from Tokyo.
Much love to Yokohama though, especially sakuragicho and china town
