It would not be that difficult – one could project the image onto the area. Think of using a laser level. The lines would be the borders you’d paint.

Ah yes, it’s so easy that you’ve made dozens, right? It always amuses me when people play down the skills and abilities of other people. Most things in the world are actually a lot harder to do than they look, especially when the people doing them are very good. Think of musical instruments, dancing, painting, riding a motorcycle well, table tennis, and countless more.
