Chinese Fake Brands
|
Fake brands are rampant in China sold with unreasonably low prices at marketplaces. Foreign companies have frequently complained of trademark violation. China recently has also cracked down on fake brands by closing down business retailers in order to build a better positive image to outsiders. Check out some 19 fake brand pics after the jump. |

Are you sure the second-to-last one is in China? It looks like the Thai floating market …. Especially with the flag.
April 30th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
Yea, You get a lot of stuff like that in china, a lot of electronics too. I’ve seen three corded optical mice, all the exact same, except one was labled “IBM”, and one with the MS window logo, and the other with the apple logo. Seen three other wireless mice in boxes, two trying it’s darndest to copy the MS white-red style box, but labeled “Microseft”, another labled “Microsft”, last was a box that looked like a logitech, but labled “LogicTeck”.
That and a lot of websites/products like to rip off other brands fonts. seen a lot with the World of Warcraft style text, but the text was talking about something completely different. I’ve also seen a small website logo, and it was (Honestly, no kidding) the exact same as in the original Power Rangers intro (complete with lightning bolt in the middle).

If they can make things look this real, why not just make your own brand?
They are pretty funny these things though, I mean, if you are infringing this obviously, why make any change at all?

Obviously, this photo is not from China.

That second to last picture does NOT show China, it shows a floating market in Thailand (presumably in Bangkok, the capital), hence the flag in the background.
Despite that little whoopsie, nice list! DUGG!

I don’t think that it is a mistake on the posters part, I think you haven’t read the English correctly. It says Chinese fake brands, not fake brands in China. The goods were more likely made in China and shipped to the Klong floating markets in Thailand.

Been to China two times already (I’m 20 years old), everything you see at stores are fake except from the store where the prices are equal to Western Europe. I’ve also got some pictures of fake-labels from China, including a Coca Cola-bottle (that didn’t taste like it at all).
April 30th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
I live there, its all fake. In fact, every time I go to an electronics market I just assume everything is fake. I’ve even had vendors in these markets tell me that you can’t find anything real/non-ripped off. The flip side of this is that I’m ok w/ paying $0.35 for a mouse and keyboard that is fake. At that price common electronic devices (and this even spills over into the realm of clothing) are somewhat disposable.
I wont buy any clothing in China ever again, no matter what the price. I’ve purchased several jackets as well as shirts from Chinese stores only to find that my XXXL, after washing, is more like a 12 year-olds t-shirt. My jackets were ok, but when it got really cold I had to import one from America via compassionate friends.

IT is also interesting to note that the Chinese do this a lot in design and have developed sophisticated reverse engineering techniques to rip a brand apart, recreate it and put their own logo on it. Several well known [in China] trainer companies started out this way.

Real products are made in china anyways, I don’t seem fake products any different other than the price.

To that super patriotic person who actually bothered to spell out “PRC”, maybe you need to get out of your shell and start admitting something: It is not racist to point out facts, however it is racist to point out opinions. Your opinion of American products is obviously racist. Even people in China know that their products aren’t as good as western made products, and they know it as something amusing to discuss when they eat dinner. Frankly I’m Chinese and I’m only disgusted by those who are so closed minded and adore Mao and the government like it’s nothing else. No one implied political thoughts until you bumped in. Why are you so sensitive? This is what’s going to one day, bring China and its government down to the ground. Westernized thoughts are better, and they work.

2 points- if we stop buying so much stuff, the world will be better - name brands or fake, they all end up in the dump in 12 months or even less. also, name brands aren’t better necessarily, it just means a few rich white old guys gets richer- at least fakes spread the profit$ around more to asians…and let’s face it, asians and other nonwhite countries making practically everything we wear or use. oh yeah, 3rd point - fakes let people who can’t afford the real brands still look good and have style. i say don’t be a snob dissing others less fortunate.
to the person who wrote china is dirt - i bet most people in the u.s. would definitely be sad if they had to get rid of *everything* they bought that’s made there. go figure people want *low* prices and love sales, and big box stores, they wouldn’t be able to afford their lifestyles (or 95% of it) without places like china. go ahead throw out everything you own that’s made in china, see where that leaves you

We have this problem in the industry I work in. Basically all this stuff is made in Chinese factories for the actual brand, then when noone is looking (or turning a blind eye) they will produce extra the same product sometimes slightly altered to sell on the blackmarket. Sometimes it’s the exact same product, other times its made using far cheaper materials so the factory can save even more money. So those who ask why they can’t make their own brands - why would they? Someone else is doing all the work of design, marketing, and building the brands and all they have to do is produce an extra amount of whatever they’re making that day and reap the benefits.

In what i see in china these days is they’re economy is trying to compete with U.S and be the world’s leading super powered nation that’s why their government allows these people to counterfeit goods and have a share with their profits so that they can catch up with U.S in terms of military technology and Stuff.
about the fake medicines and selling them to they’re own people i think the chinese government has their concerns about their growing population so an accidental genocide due to fake medications can be their sole solution to this problem. (im not being mean or anything im just implying common sense that’s all)
regarding to fake goods let’s face the facts that not all people are born rich or have rich families.experiencing some luxury while not spending much isn’t really bad as long at “it” has quality and lasts for a certain amount of time(at least a year or so).the cons about fake products is someone might end up getting hurt or much worst die from using them and talk about those companies that make the original brands they may end up bankrupt or also starting to reduce their own quality in terms of making their own products just to keep up with the rabid counterfeiters.
I do hope that they really think it over and ask themselves this question why not we just make are own damn brands instead of copying them from others it’ll just make us look bad when it comes to spelling.
