An employee tries out these false eyelashes at the Shu Uemura eyelashes bar in the chic Omotesando district in Tokyo. With twenty-two different types of designs, the price cost ranges from $13 to $43. Right shows one of the design, a pair of hand-crafted feather false eyelashes.

I have mixed feelings if this trend goes popular and the employee wearing this eyelashes sure need a dental job on her teeth if she is to market these. 10 more pics after the jump.

Miss Universe 2007 was held at Mexico City and Riyo Mori of Japan was crowned Miss Universe with Miss Natalia Guimarares of Brazil as first runner-up and Miss Ly Jonaitis of Venezuela as second runner-up followed by Miss Honey Lee of Korea and Miss Rachel Smith of USA (whose slipped on the runway did not stop her from getting fifth place).

This is the second time that Japan has won the Miss Universe title. The last time Japan won was in 1959 when Akiko Kojima became the first Miss Universe of Asia. Riyo Mori aged 20 is the daughter of a dance school operator. Riyo would be given an apartment in New York which she may use for one year, an undisclosed salary, a complete wardrobe including a luxury watch and a scholarship for two years of film study in New York. 1 videoclip of Riyo Mori crowned after the jump.

Knut the little polar bear who achieved celebrity status worldwide was born at the Berlin Zoo but was abandoned by his mother. He had a brother born at the same time but the brother did not survive. Knut was taken in and bottle fed by zoo keepers.

Animal rights activists had been saying that Knut should be put down because he should not suffer the fate of being brought up by humans. Cute little fella with 20 more pics after the jump.

I’m not sure whether to believe that the before and after pics are the same person but if it is, that plastic surgeon did one hell of a good job. I have my doubts because for instance the second pic had crooked teeth but turns into perfect white teeth after the transformation. Another one would be the last pic who had her busts upsized by at least two levels. Check out 5 more pics after the jump.

This is an implementation of a classical optical illusion called the Ames room. In this setup people or objects appear to grow or shrink when moving from one corner to another. The trick to this illusion is that the true shape of the room is trapezoidal and the apparent cubic perspective overrides the perception of size constancy.

Pimped out Japanese vans which includes models dedicated to pop stars like Ayumi Hamasaki (just shows how hot she is in Japan) and cartoon characters. They should have made one out dedicated to animes like Naruto, Bleach or Gundam which would totally be my taste. 6 more pics after the jump.

A look at street dentists in China and India who are veterans of their own trade. These skills are usually brought down by their family and are slowly becoming extinct as dentists with degrees and clinics slowly take over their businesses. However poor people still visit them for their services. 10 more pics after the jump.
