Best Mario Cake Ever

Created by university student, Su Yin, this has got to be the best Mario cake ever. This was made for her friend Amanda’s housemate who was an avid fan of console games. It all started when he said to Amanda that ‘Su Yin could do better than that’ after someone posted a Super Mario wedding cake on the forums and so this is the final masterpiece from Su Yin for his birthday cake. Check out 7 more pics after the jump.

Awesome work! I do have to say, though, that the photo of Mario’s head in a glass is…fairly disturbing.

I think his left hand is on back to front, the thumb should point towards the body. Neat cake ‘though, It’d be a shame to eat it.

That is amazing. I can’t imagine the work that had to be put into that cake. BTW, the thumb is fine, he is holding the mushroom in his palm, which would cause his thumb to be pointed outward.

lol, tim lewis and your mastery of anatomy. Why don’t you put something in the palm of your left hand and see which way your thumb faces.

Are you sure his thumb should point towards the body? Try this, hold something in your hand, palm facing up, check where your thumb is pointing towards.

Better yet, hold a cup of hot coffee in your hand, then rotate your hand so your thumb is pointing in towards your body.

The thumbs are fine, if I hold out my left palm my thumb faces out, which is what the cake is doing. Awesome Job!!

The reason the thumb comment was made is because the hand does look a little off. The hand is basically turned too far. The hand should be turned so that the thumb is at a higher vertical position.
I’ll admit I thought the same thing at first glance, then I thought about it, and realized what was wrong.
