The Lion Whisperer - Kevin Richardson

Animal behaviourist Kevin Richardson says he relies on instinct to win the hearts and form an intimate bond with the big cats. He can spend the night curled up with them without the slightest fear of being attacked. His magic works not only work for lions but other animals such as cheetahs, leopards and even hyenas do not hold a threat against him. Lions are his favourites and its a wonder how he can play, carress, cuddle with them whose teeth are sharp enough to bite through thick steel. Its a dangerous job but to Kevin, its more of a passion for him. Check out 17 more pics after the jump.

Kevin, you’re doing exactly what God intended for humans. To interact with all animals without fear (Gen. 1:26). He created us to look after them and that’s exactly what you’re proving is possible. Way to go.

Lions are so cool, yeah, it takes a lot of guts to go out there.
Personally I would not want to do it, because no matter how loving he was to them growing up, they are still WILD animals, and are not domesticated.
Even my cat a supposedly domesticated animal will sometimes bite me, hard. My point is that wild animals are unpredictable.
What does God think of this, for some reason people are really bringing God into this, so I will too, God created animals out of the same stuff he created man… But, yeah, we’re a lot different, plus we’re the only creatures that can make moral decisions. Does that mean that animals cannot love… they seem to have some similar emotions to us. Anyway, the bible uses lions as an analogy of power and of kingship. Satan was described as a “roaring lion seeking out whomever he can devour.” Yet also Jesus is described as “The lion of the tribe of Judah.”
So, what does God think of lions… he thinks they’re powerful, probably not something to play around with.
I will pray that he doesn’t get eaten.

Wow, amazing. How can this be possible? If I went out there with wild lions, I think that I’d get eaten, but, who knows? It’s really nice that he can go & play with lions without getting mauled/eaten haha.
I’d like to hug a lion

It is as clever as it is dangerous and I fail to see what particular behaviours will be learned from such unnecessary and risky interaction. I don’t believe that there is any such thing as a ‘Lion Whisperer’ as anyone hand rearing could do the same thing. All this said I believe that the animals have not been declawed or pulled about on chains so are far better off with Kevin Richardson than with Craig Busch.
