7 Legged Hermaphrodite Lamb To Be Destroyed

This 7 legged hermaphrodite lamb in Nwe Zealand with polymelia (a birth defect involving limbs where the affected individual has more than the usual number of limbs) would probably be put down by vets after discovering that a part of of its bowel is missing and thereafter was unable to pass feces. Polymelia is rare among both humans and animals. Veterinarian Steve Williams who suggested the lamb to be euthanized believed that an error during embryo formation had caused to the lamb’s 7 legged dilemma. This is a condition that occurs once in several million sheep and there is another case of a lamb with six legs in Belgium as well reported last year.

How is it cruel? It was a birth defect, they couldn’t of prevented it. It was best to put it to sleep, it would of suffered immensely if left to live

What is more creul if they don’t put down the lamb. Do you have any idea of the depth of the suffering of the lamp if it is unable to pass feces? The feces and urine of an animal is actually waste. When waste builds up in the body it actually poisons the body. Causing all kinds of problems, NONE of them minor. By putting down the lamb you end its suffering. Isn’t that better?

Wow, someone needs to get their head out of their butt, putting this little lamb to sleep was
the best thing that could have happened to it. I raise sheep and have yet to come across this
but I can guarantee that the outcome would be the same. It would be cruel to allow this little guy
to suffer with the poisons building in its little body, why not sit back and think Emily about how you would feel if you had 7 legs and part of your bowels were missing so you couldnt go to the bathroom and had to endure horrible pain and agony.
