He can’t afford a transformer toy because he bought a kickass digital camera to document his construction project and paid for an internet connection to upload said digital photos.

He’s really artistic his layout is amazing.

He certainly is talented. But as others pointed out the statement that he can’t afford a Transformers toy is a bit weak. He can eat at KFC alot (or does he take the KFC stuff from the trash?) and he does have a camera and a computer. None-the-less, certainly talented.

I Noticed the background upon which the artist is working. Not a cheap
if an interested collector wanted to the art piece.
ghetto hovel. everything is great the work is outstanding but I”m pretty sure he could
afford to go buy one. I believe the value of his work could afford 20 or 30

Yes, but what an outstanding portfolio to take to an engineering degree interview.

But does it turn into a car? No. Rubbish.

the kid prbobly bought the trasformers toy, took it apart, then traced each piece to make the paper model.

who cares if he can really afford to buy one….you missed the point entirely….this is a kick @!# model and he’s showing us all what a little imagination and talent can do…this is amazing!! good job
October 17th, 2007 at 12:02 am
my god!!!! i thought it was a real model!!!! he’s really talented!! if he cant afford to buy a real transformer, he sure spends alot on kfc meals already.. and one meal costs around $50 in China presently i think.. so he’s definitely quite rich.. and skillful with his hands..

So maybe his mom or dad or sister or brother works at KFC, and could get him some boxes for free? Maybe one of them had a digital camera?
The fact that the *family* could afford to buy a real model is not the same as the kid being able to do so.
Either way, great work, I could never be that patient with paper and glue!
November 5th, 2007 at 9:54 am
well i don’t care about buying a transformer toy cuz they are still too cheesey for me, but what this guy did is much, much better, even if it doesn’t transform into a car i still would play w/ it in robot mode, very cool job!
November 7th, 2007 at 2:45 am
That has to be the coolest Tranformer I’ve ever seen!
The Colonel would be proud. Or maybe not….him being a communist and all

That is an extraordinary piece of work! And for the detractors… sheesh.
November 17th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
To further continue Adam’s post.
He also bough a helluva lot of KFC overpriced chicken.
But i think that by not enough money they meant his allowance, the camera and internet probably belonged to is father or mother.

i thought it was an actual transformer !! amazing work. the article is misleading, do a search on bumble bee and you’ll find the guy’s page. he says as a child in 1988 he couldn’t afford transformers. he is not a child anymore !!
November 21st, 2007 at 3:54 am
jesus, people, just ’cause his PARENTS bought him computer or camera doesn’t mean he can afford a toy model! i think you don’t get the point at all. i think that his work is really impressive and you just envy his so much (and probably all of you lack talent to do the same thing) that you post stupid comments.
good job, the work is great! i’d like to see optimus prime made so as well

YOU GUYS ARE IDIOTS. Who cares what the story is behind this, this is an amazing job by whomever made it and should be on show!!! Make a couple more and have the whole set. I bet this took a long long time to make! I would love to have this!
I would be very very proud of this effort!
Well done!

Hey not only did this guy design this himself, but he made it out of KFC boxes, this is amazing, the only reason why everyone is maoning about it is because you jealous that you guys cant do that yourselves! that is an amazing peice of artwork, dont you dare let anyone else tell you its crap.
God, you guys no nothing about art and sculpture, how dare you critisize him! Im poor and i have a computer, its part of my job as a designer, maybe, just maybe he thought, “wow i wonder if i can do this? ” and viola and awesome sculpture. I couldnt do this in a million years.
Good on you.

If you guys actually read the article on the site, you’ll know that he was telling his story when he was a kid when Transformers cartoon was aired at that time. Then he began trying to made it with paper and stuff as experiment BUT this model is made recently after he watched the current Transformers movie.
February 5th, 2009 at 5:06 am
that is totally awesome!!
February 11th, 2009 at 3:49 am
Are you freakin kidding me? The guy makes an awesome model out of KFC box and all you are thinking of is if he could afford the toy? If you are serious then you are an idiot, if it was a joke then.. well it wasn’t funny either.
Is it because he is Chinese? Bet you wouldn’t say the same if he was from the states. Have you guys even seen what China is like right now?
God damn, stop being so ignorant and educate yourselves, mofos.
excellent model, great talent.
