Celebrity Photoshop
|
Retouching of celebrities using photoshop. Though celebrities have the raw material in the looks department, photographers have to do some retouching and photoshop refinery before they are worthy to be published in magazines. 5 more pics after the jump. |

[...] Hemmy.net has a bunch of crazy celebrity shots before and after retouching. They’re very hypnotic. Take a few seconds on each and just…stare. Watch for subtle changes. it’s very scary. [...]

Without knowing who the source is, it’s just as possible that someone took good normal photos of the celebs, then tweaked them to be less attractive.
I’m not saying tons of photoshop doesn’t go on, I’m just saying I don’t have 100% faith that these are authentic before/after shots.

Sketpic is correct. We don’t really know which came first.
The study is interesting as it points out just how flawed our notion is of what we see and expect our celebrities to be, as compared to what they actually are…

Regardless of whether these are accurate or where they came from, digital photography is amazingly powerful. It’s hard to know what to trust these days!

I think these are authentic pics, unlike the Skeptic (above). You can tell by the very subtle lines on the face and so on….you can’t fake that unless you were to spend more than a day just drawing them in, and even then it would not look as real as the reality of having those tiny lines….trust me…I know these things as does every woman!

…oh come on this is easy stuff…they do much much worse.. and its extremely easy to make them look terrible. add curves, fat, cellulite, unflattering shadows they do it an insane amount either way, i mean give me a pic of anyone and i can make them look good …

Poodle you are so wrong! These pics are in such ‘fine detail’ that they cannot be fake! Give me a big break Mr! Just look at the lines under the eyes. That is so real to reality it is far beyond the capability of any simple software on the market today. I can always tell what’s been photo-tricked and what hasn’t. These are for real my man!

Truly great photography. I really enjoyed these pictures
Its nice there are such sexy celebrities enjoying life so we can be diverted from our regular day to day monotony! I know all of my celeb pics at Awseome.net are totally photoshopped!

Skeptic, you’re a moron
Of course these are photoshopped to look nicer than reality. People do not have perfect alabaster skin, and womens hips are curved. The idea they would take celeb photos and make them ugly is absurd. You probably think the moon landing and 9/11 were government hoaxes as well. You sully the name skeptic.

To all the skeptics:
It is much easier to tuck in something such as a tummy than to create extra fat of the same skin tone and qualities (re: last photograph). More importantly, watch how the light falls on each figure and compare with the before/after. It isn’t possible for natural or artificial light to create that soft, glowed look we so often perceive surrounds celebrities and models.

Does photoshop give photographers an excuse to no longer try to shoot a great picture? In some of the ‘before’-versions the lighting who just plain bad. And that first guy actually looks better when not photoshopped; too much of a babyface in the photoshop-version. They should spend more time behind the cameras and less behind the computer.

I make my living as a professional photographer. I USED to make my living as a Photoshop specialist, working on images like these. I can’t tell you how many hairy lips and fat rolls I’ve removed from models. Seriously, what you see here is spot-on. NO-one looks that good in the raw photos. No. One.

It’s just amazing how kinda perverse the world has become in this regard. All our “beautiful” people need to have the crap edited out of their photos in order not to horrify all their “admirers”. It’s the rolls and flawed skin that amuse me the most. Those perfect million-dollar hunks all have skin as bad as mine, maybe worse! Yes! I win!

for Skeptic, Poodle and any others with like minds.
USE those minds. The Blonde from Desperate Housewives whose name eludes me right now is middleaged have you any idea how long she has been around? Remember the 80′s, well she was in her mid 20′s then and appearing in a show called “Knots Landing” and didnt look as young then as she does in the photshopped pic and no its not plastic surgery, there are two things a woman cannot hide her age with one is her neck and the second is her hands . And Jeremy, you hit it on the head, they dont want to horrify their admirers, but I think its time the truth was out there, there are young women in their 20′s getting botox shots because they feel the need to look as perfect as the celebrities. Whatever happened to growing old gracefully? Reality SHOULD rule.

All celebrities are the “victim” of photoshop, that’s why they remain still on stage hahaha

Hey, ‘The Skeptic’ – Just because they are celebrities doesnt mean they are perfect!!! I am a photographer and am fluent in Photoshop and the before and after shots shown on this site, in my opinion, are real and very possible to alter. On occasion, I use Photoshop actions that have the same effects shown above.
