In some of the 'before'-versions the lighting who just plain bad. And that first guy actually looks better when not photoshopped; too much of a babyface in the photoshop-version. More importantly, watch how the light falls on each figure and compare with the before/after. You can tell by the very subtle lines on the face and so on....you can't fake that unless you were to spend more than a day just drawing them in, and even then it would not look as real as the reality of having those tiny lines....trust me...I know these things as does every woman!
