Horse Fight In China
I never knew horse fights existed until I saw this article at Daily Mail. These were taken in a horse fight tournament in China where horses savagely attack each another until the other one is injured or dies. The cruel sport of horse fighting has been outlawed almost worldwide but still thrive in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea and China. Most who came to watch were more keen on gambling bets than the actual horse fights. Authorities in China says that it is hard to stop an event that is embedded into local culture.

This is sick and cruel, and those people better clean up their act before the Olympics, or news will spread!!
Horses only fight for a few minutes to size each other up in the wild, occaisonally some injuries are sustained, but the opposing stallion will be left to run away and leave the other’s territory. Making horses to fight to the death is unhumain, cruel and unnatural. Those people should be put into jail for animal cruelty and planned murder!!!!!

i agree with all those other comments on this disgusting event that actually takes place, IT SHOULD BE BANNED and people should be punished for this kind of animal cruelty, it is wrong and un necessary, u chinese wanna place bets well go bet on something more civilised. This is not right.!!! horses are beatifull animals with lovely spirits and use are just runining it all.

I thought that most of you were converted to Christian/Catholic now. What the F*ck is this? Humane slaughter is one thing, but this is just sickening. I’d like to comment on Joe’s from August 3rd. It’s people with his opinion that prevent things like horse fighting from disappearing. People like him sit back and use the excuse of ‘that’s life’ to justify their lack of action. I’d like to know if he was publicly brutally killed without anyone stepping up to help if his opinion would stand as i does now. Would he still have the opinion of ‘ that’s life’ and as he painfully passed on?

When I was younger, I used to think animal fights were cool, then I realized that it’s unnatural for animals to fight to the death. Even in a predator-prey relationship, the predator would more than likely run away if she felt her life was in danger. I like horses, too (I’m not trying to be funny, but you may doubt that in a second), and they’re much better uses for horses than fighting, such as riding, racing, or making glue and leather. I think forcing animal fights is a cruel thing to do, but, like some others said, this isn’t some exclusive “Asian” phenomenon; It’s a general human failing. Asia is just a very populous region, so 1% of Asian population is going to be a heck of a lot more people than 1% of American (continental) population.

I wish I still had the link to a European horse-fighting event I once stumbled onto. I saw photos years ago in someone’s travel blog of two draft horses fighting for a distinctly Caucasian audience sitting in bleachers outside the fight pen; from the colors I believe one of the studs was a Schwarzwalder Fuchs (Black Forest Draft) and the other may have been a Noriker. Both animals were clearly well-bred and beautifully put together, and the absence of visible scarring led me to believe both were normally quite well cared for. I must admit I was pretty startled, having thought until then that horse-fighting was limited to Asia for the most part.

The horses do not fight to the death. One subgroup of ONE ethnic group does this- they number a few million out of 1,320 million.
