Street Fighter Japan Vs USA
|
A comparison between Street Fighter the Animated Movie (Japan) and Street Fighter Cartoon (USA). The reviewer calls it unbiased but comparing a movie and a tv show is pretty biased to me. However that doesn’t stop the amusing comparison that shows how bad the USA version is when shown scene by scene with the Japanese version. |

So…the point is that American cartoons are generally badly animated?
Yup, pretty sure we knew that already. Even underfunded anime series which run into the triple digits tend to be better animated than most American shows.

@ Josh - I think it goes beyond that. Look at the lack of art direction in the US one, no dramatic lighting (no lighting at all!). Plus you can really see how each country sees it’s viewers. The US one has no end to incredibly mundane and unnecessary dialogue. The plots/scenarios that the characters find themselves in are also lacking in imagination (Vega/Chun-Li encounter comes to mind). Very poor quality, I am amazed at this. Thanks for posting it!

And yet they both where probably drawn and animated in Japan.
