3 Player Chess

Fascinating version of chess which was bought by its owner in Czech Republic where 3 players can pit against one another. It plays like regular chess and the board is divided into 3 areas. This is great if there is another chess friend who can join in the fun.
Check out more of the 3 player chess with 14 more pics after the jump.

I was wondering your variations upon the normal rules (if any) when you play 3way chess. I am about to buy a 3 player chess board but cant decide between the two variations of boards and the rules to follow.

On that site he outlines some interesting rules like the stop and go. Me and my friends pondered this as well. Just wondering if you could elaborate on any quirks you’ve come across playing with three players.

Great pictures. I bought a 3-way chess set two years ago as a novelty, and have only played a couple of times. It’s good to see that there is interest. It is hard to get used to, but adds a much higher level of complexity.
The great challenge is when I have relied on strategy that works with two players, and then I am blindsided by a third opponent. It is a real test.
Thanks again for the pictures.
