Indian Girl Jyoti Amge Is Smallest Girl In The World

15 year old Indian teenager Jyoti Amge is the smallest girl in the world at a weight of 11lbs (around 5kg) and height of 1 ft 11 inch (around 58 cm). Above shows Jyoti with a neighbor’s 13 month old baby. She has a form of dwarfism called achodroplasia and will never grow any taller. This is very helpful. I have to write a report on achondroplasia (the condition Jyoti has) for science class. This’ll make a great example and photo of the condition. As for Jyoti herself, I must say I am happy for her for embracing her size. This is the way she was made and she is willing to except that. Good for her!!

She doesn’t have achondroplasia, she has primordial dwarfism, which is a type of dwarfism that produces the smallest people in the world. Achondroplasia would cause her to have a regular torso and short limbs, but she’s completely proportional, which is the hallmark of primordial dwarfism: they’re perfectly proportional, just much, much smaller.

The first time my eyes caught the pix of jyoti, i jst fell in love with the spark in her eyes, they say you can see the spirit of one’s soul through their eyes, her smile is beautiful, and tells me she has accepted her fate, which is a strong and vital factor for her, cuz acceptance is healthy and has its healing powers.im so in love with her spirit of determination and her zest, my strongest desire is that one day i will meet with jyoti and hav a special snap shot with her. JYOTI, WHEREVER YOU R RIGHT NOW, I WNT TO SAY, I LOVE YOU, AND YOU R SO SPECIAL, GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY YOUR DREAMS OF WANTING TO BECOME AN ACTRESS COME THROUGH AND COME TRUE!!!!!!

She does not have Primordial Dwarfism, she has a form of Pituitary Dwarfism. There is a difference.

I watched the show about this girl, and sadly her parents are incredibly ignorant and much too overprotective. This girl has been walking around with fractures in both legs for some time - horrible by the looks of the xrays - and this is why she needs to be carried everywhere. A doctor was finally consulted and orthopedic surgery planned that would keep her from becoming totally crippled - but because the girl carried on like a 2 yr old when they tried to take blood from her, the parents decided that she cannot handle pain and that there would be no operation. Then they took her to some goat herder who spread some paste made of parsley on the kid’s legs and said God told him that it would heal her bones in three treatments.
The broken bones in both legs are just going to get worse, and her dreams of ANYTHING, let alone being an actress, are down the drain. The later years of her life will be spent in alot of pain and with deformity and complete lack of mobility unless she is carried. Really sad because it doesn’t have to be that way.

I just saw your show today on national geographic. You are so brave and you have an amazing spirit. I cringed when they were trying to take your blood. In the United States they use butterflies on small children could’nt they have used one of those on her. Stay brave Jyoti you are most adorable.

Its really a sad thing for her to suffer from this, but from the looks of these photos she seems like such a sweet and HAPPY girl! I’m glad she still acts like a normal teenager.
