Dede Koswara - The Tree Man Undergoes Treatment

Dede Koswara, 37, who is also known as ‘The Tree Man of Java’ had underwent four major operations that hacked away the bark like tissue sprouting from his hands and feet. Dede was able to see the outline of his toes for the first time as medics removed more than 4lbs of warts from his body. Spending his last 20 years (his ordeal started when he was 15 and cut his knee where a small wart developed and spread) with the bizarre condition, Dede expressed that he wants to get better and find a job and hopes that one day he will meet a girl and get married.

Dear Mr Dede Koswara and other intereted in this problem !
I am Vietnamese
Sorry, the first I say is I am sorry because Iam bad at English in School, so may be you can’t understand What i say
Ican say to you that, in Vietnamese, there is a tree name is “Tía Tô” can fix the problem, may be, I am not sure
About 4 year later, i have only 1 warts on the foot, when i go to hospital to fix it, the doctor burn it. After 1 week, there are more in all my body, hand, foot….
My friend say me to use “Tía tô”
I use “Tia to” leaf and grind it with some Salt and put it into injury (already scrape to Bleed)
After 2 week, all warts is death, and I can get it out
Ref: I only use for about 5 large warts , but all (about 14 warts ) is death after 2 week
it is Folk art of Viet Nam
I can’t explain exactly it to You, but I think it is very nessesary for you to death all warts on your body
Good luck !

I used to have warts -small ones- when I was young. My father used to scrape them off with a nail file after soaking them in warm salt water daily and apply salt again afterward. They eventually got thinner and thinner until they all disappeared completely. This method may not necessarily apply in Dede’s condition, but if any readers have the same problem I had, give it a try. The bottom line is “Do what you can to get rid of them. Do not wait until they grow uncontrollably”.

Guys, this man has a virus a lot of us already have - HPV. The difference is that this guy has a genetic defect which cannot stem the virus and allows this virus to create a lot of waste product which grow in the form of cutaneous horns, which is what you see. No old remedies will cure this man. Only western medicine and a Health Ministry that will agree to come out of the Dark Ages, will.
My main concern is actually for his friends who suffer even worse afflictions.

Dede will be treated and hopefully cured by the combined knowledge and research of the world’s scientific and medical community.
I there is a god, and I seriously doubt there is, then he holds the blame for Dede’s terrible illness but can never be relied upon for the cure.
For Dede to know that you all wish him well gives him strength and hope. You prayers, however, are a waste of your time.
August 12th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Dede has more strength than most of us could ever dream to have. I agree with Sarah. That this man could go through so much and still smile… we should all be so lucky as to realize how precious our lives really are
August 12th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
I believe I just watched a news report this morning saying he has a wife and two children. He is better now after treatment and looks very young or his age!
August 13th, 2008 at 3:37 am
Poor Dede! My heart hurts so for you! Kasihan! I have watched the whole story about this man who seems so sweet and gentle with a such a beautiful smle still after all he has gone through. I just can not stop thinking about him!
I am so glad he is getting help form, the Doctor from Mayland. The medical treatment in Indonesia is so sub standard. This really must have blown the Doctors minds in Indo!
I hope you are cured soon Dede.

Dear Dede,
I believe there is a way to remove your warts without surgery.
Very simply - it is a substance called Lugol’s iodine- this is a pure iodine which you can actually drink to regain your heath.
It is a 2 to 1 mixture of iodine and potassium iodide - this is NOT the same iodine you buy at the pharmacy. But you can have a pharmacist mix it up for you or find it to buy on the internet.
DO NOT let the medical establishment discourage you to use this.
Your problem is caused by a fungus which Lugol’s iodine will kill.
You can also put it straight on your warts as well as drink it. I have studied alternative medicine for 30 years and use this myself…
I guarantee it will never harm you.
With Love,
Damsel..

Den, you aren’t very bright are you? You are however quite offensive and rude. Blaming God for this? You will have to “blame” him for all the good things too.

Hi Dede,
i feel so sorry of what you’ve been through in this life… but i am proud of you that you can still smile in spite of all this…i agree with Brendon and Sarah…. and yes i will be praying for you too that God would stretch His MIGHTY hand upon you, He can heal you friend, and set you FREE from that situation, but you need to make decision right now to believe that He is God the creator of all man kind, He did not create you that way, He made you wonderfully and perfectly, but satan the enemy have it for you…as the Bible says that satan come to kill, steal, and destroy, but JESUS come to give us life, and live it abundantly, Jesus loves you so MUCH that He gave His life on the cross for us, and Jesus was beaten in order for us to be free from any sicknesses and diseases, please say this prayer with all your heart… and God will hear you and He is waiting for you to say this…
Dear God,
Thank you for giving me life and sustaining me all these years…
thank YOU Gog for giving you Dear Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins…
Jesus i believe in You, right now i invite you to come into my heart…
be my LORD and my SAVIOR over my life…
thank you Jesus… i ask this in JESUS name Amen….
soon as you say it…
believe that Jesus will not let you suffer on that situation anymore
just continue to talk to him…you can talk to him anytime anywhere
He is there in the spirit with you…
God bless you Dede…
I speak healing for you IN THE NAME OF JESUS!….

CASTOR OIL( ok for people but poisonous to dogs).
Rub castor il several times a day on warts and they will eventually disappear….however this is a real heavy duty case, so I would get him to bath in castor oil

Hi Dede,
Remember that Jesus loves you He want to gives a better life no matter what you suffer today. Confess Him with all your heart, He is the healer, the great physician. Isaiah 53: 5 Jesus was pierced for our transgressions he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,and by his wounds we are healed. I will be praying for you. I know that nothing is imposible to the Lord. Don’t be discourage.
I love you in the name of Jesus!

This message is vital for Mr Dede, if you really love this man and want to help…please get this message across to him where ever he is right now, that JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER TO HIS PROBLEM.
Therefore,it will be very important for you to proclaim JESUS CHRIST as your lord and personal Saviour before you can be totally healed.
I like you to understand that your issue is beyond what medical science can solve b cos I know very well that its a spiritual misery and has been caused by Satan.
Remember, you were not born the way you are right now,it took you by amazement to see that’s how it now turn out to be.
JOHN 10:10,say that Satan has come to kill…to steal…and to destroy, but JESUS says I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.I assure you that if you sincerely accept JESUS into your heart today, you’ll walk out of that infirmity a free man.
Please, understand that what I am telling you now is no religious dogma or crap,as others think.
JESUS IS REAL, I REALLY MEAN THIS…YOU CAN WALK AWAY FREE AND YOUR SKIN AS CLEAN AS THAT OF A BABY,IF ONLY YOU JUST BELIEVE.
Medical science can only do little or nothing to completely help you,JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER!
For more info. you can reach me on email…at: dekhator@yahoo.com
It shall be well with you in Jesus name,Amen.

Dede, I felt sad about your situation, but don’t worry God will help you to recover. Just have faith in him and pray. Prayer is so powerful, there is no such things as impossible to God. Ask he said and you will receive.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:56 am
Get well soon Dede!
@godsfriends: praying won’t do anything to cure this man, treatments will!
August 13th, 2008 at 10:33 am

This is truly a miracle. I thank God that He saw fit to relive some of DeDe’s struggle. I by no means suffer with any condition as severely as DeDe’s but I still see and feel his pain. I am very interested in knowing about that Tía tô”. I will goggle it but if anyone can give a layman’s explanation I much appreciate it. What do you do for a planters wart on the sole of your foot? I have two one the same foot.

Near the end of this bullentin board, people are sounding more like the ones who surrounded Job as he went through is challenge (mostly directed towards his faith). We need not judge even those who disagree with our beliefs. For the Bible’s lessons should reveal to us that we may never know the reasons why God chooses for some of us to have it hard, but one thing is for certain, it matures your relationship with God himself. Thanks Dede for beling the strong silent type as you have had to endure.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:03 am
hey dede, i actually see that you have many encouragements already
i just want to tell you that we will be fasting and praying for you my boyfriend and i , like you have heard already on the previous comments, nothing is impossible to our God, Jesus Christ , once you ask him to be your Lord and Saviour
i am confident that Jesus will healed you, you just have to believe in Him
be brave and may God Jesus bless you

Thank God that there are medical doctors and hospital staff that went about their ways to help Dede. Its unfortunate that he made his living so that people can stare at him.
Our prayers messages, thoughts and wishes are all wonderful gestures. It’ll be nice if we can send him some clothes, shoes, and other things. Has anyone started a fund dtrive for Dede yet.

It’s a pity that some people would take this opportunity to try and convert someone’s faith to Christanity. You may believe in Jesus Christ but that does not mean that Dede also believes in Jesus. Please people keep your GODS names to yourselves and regard GOD as just GOD. Some people here also belong to other faiths and does not appreciat your preaching of Jesus. The early settlers have done enough harm to native cultures!
Thanks for your comments and compassion anyways!
God cannot help everyone is every situation on this planet! If GOD could help….. then….. why are there so many injustice and violence on this planet?
Is there really a GOD or just our illusion?

Dear dede,
jesus loves you and so do i. you are definately a survivor and God has given you all the strength to do so. I am so proud of you. don’t worry, God gives knowledge and wisdom to all the medical doctors who will be taking care of you. for those who don’t believe are just as guilty as leaving words. true love comes with action (prayer). my youth group and i as well as all these other people will pray for you and for those who don’t believe God is sovereign. hang in there my brave friend. you deserve a beautiful life, and God will grant it. and if there is so much violence, injustice, and poverty, why are we just sitting back and complaining to God instead of doing something about it?
Bless you sweetheart

I used to have warts all over my fingers and the backs of my hands–granted much smaller than these growths. Dermatologists who I went to for help kept freezing them off, but they’d just come back.
Someone told me to start taking zinc mineral supplements. Within a couple of weeks my warts had shrunk, and now all that’s left are barely perceptible little spots where the warts used to be. Don’t know if that would do the trick in Dede’s case, but taking a regular zinc supplement in a reasonable quantity can’t hurt. Praying for you, Dede.
August 14th, 2008 at 5:09 am
At first I was very sad about seein that someone had to go threw something like this but GOD has his ways of showin us things that we in other ways would ignore him! I pray for DEDE and admire him for the strengh and courage that he has had for all this years. There is a way and you will heal I send you many blessings as you over come this
August 15th, 2008 at 2:26 am
You said it, Russ… God is a myth sustained by those that can’t cope with the realities of life by other means. God has absolutely nothing to do with Dede’s situation, good, bad or otherwise.
And as for you T… You took the bait (as I knew someone would) and affirmed my point rather effctively. Thanks!
How can god be responsible for the good but not the bad or vise versa? Answer?…there is no god. Become educated and responsible for yourself and those around you such as the medical experts treating Dede.
Oh and T… if you find the reality of truth to be offensive and rude, you will live a very disappointing life, from beginning to end.
August 16th, 2008 at 10:47 am
To Den,
I understand that it is hard to understand why God would allow something like that to happen to one of his creations. But for you to belittle your creator is not a good plan on your part. We, as finite beings, can’t begin to understand WHY things happen and it isn’t our job to understand. It’s our job to submit to our creator and accept the love he has for us…including you and people like you that deny him. Please understand that you will be held accountable one day for your life. I hope you rethink your position on God. You still have time to do that. I hope to see you in heaven some day.
August 16th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
I know of people being born with two heads and stuff like that, but this is probably the most bizarre disorder I’ve ever heard about. You can’t imagine the difficulty and hurt that some people go through.
August 17th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Greg,
Do you realize you are trying to scare peple into an act of faith? Do I still have time Greg? Really?
I am accountable for my life daily to myself and those around me. I do not need to believe in a myth to be a successful, contributing member of society. I do not need to be a Christian to have morals. In fact, I’m most positive that my morals are a fair amount higher than most Catholic priests and mine are based in reality, not whimsy.
Because you do not know where the energy you call a “soul” will go when your body dies you imagine a heaven and hell. The fact is that neither exist except to provide your weak mind some relief that somehow life on this earth is fair and just and a mythical supreme being will cast judgment on all.
Wake up Greg. Life is not fair nor just. People make of their lot in life what their opportunities allow. No more, no less. When your body fails, there is some possibility that the remaining energy is released into the universe, but in what form and for how long or for what reason nobody knows. You simply hold onto hope that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow because your feeble mind cannot comprehend that it all may just end. period.
Whatever the result, there is no god. The simple fact that there are hundreds of religions with different “gods” out there should be enough to prove to you that you probably have it all wrong.
Wake up Greg.

August 29th, 2008 at 12:52 am
dede can only get better from here onwards.
for those non believers of God let me just say this, how many more testimonials do you need to read to be convinced the existence of our father the almighty God. do you honestly believe in evolution and that we came from fish? com’on, we are all here for a reason and a purpose and to each its own. say a simple prayer today, talk to God and you will see how this alone can transform your whole life. we are created to live forever so don’t let what you experienced in this short little life span on earth fooled ya, there’s a lot more beyond this and it’s not something that could be explained logically - you just know.

Tomas, the total number of morons that believe in god are not proof of anything. If you believe something because the person next to you believes it, then you are truly a moron. Too bad there are no Heaven’s Gate followers left to ask about that.
How many thousands of religions are there? How many gods? Which one is yours? Why are you right about your blind faith and the next guy is wrong?
Stupid Tomas, very, very stupid.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:28 am
I just stumbled across an article about this guy, and decided to find out a bit more. As shocking as Dede’s condition is, I was actually more horrified by some of the comments people have been posting.
To tell someone that if they put their faith in God, they will be cured, could be the worst thing you ever do. Many people are deterred from seeking medical care that may help save their lives, because they believe that only “God” can save them.
Thankyou to David Ekhator for this great caption. “Medical science can only do little or nothing to completely help you,JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER!”
Imagine that you tell someone this, then they believe it and refuse medical care, and subsequently die of a disease that could have been cured by a doctor. Are you not in some way responsible for their death? Or even if they continue to suffer through a long life of pain, when a doctor could have cured them.
One of Jesus greatest traits was humility. If you cannot be humble enough to accept that you may actually be wrong and there may not be a God, and that seaking medical care may be the only chance to save a man’s life, then you do not live up to Jesus name and his teachings. If there is such a thing as an act of evil, then to say this kind of thing to someone is surely just that.
To all of you who follow your faith without any question, you are blind. Open your eyes and your minds. Live your life as if this was all there was, and if you died tomorrow, you would still be satisfied. Believe what you want to believe, but do not force others to the same in a hope to “Save” them. If there truly is a God, and he is not evil, then there is no way in which he would allow one of his people to suffer for eternity in hell.
September 6th, 2008 at 3:36 am
I support Chris, God helps people who help themselves. Look at it this way, May be medical cars is gods way of helping you. You can light a candle in the middle of a storm at Gods altar and leave it up to god to keep it lit, you need to do some thing to make sure that it does not get extinguished. That holds good in this case also. This man needs medical attention, that is the gods way of helping people. God wont come down in his shiny robes with a glow around his head to cure your ills, you need to take medical help. If you can guide this person to some one who can help him. Don’t just say only got can help you that is more or less giving up on all hope.
September 16th, 2008 at 2:34 am
To all:
There is no reason to tell people to give up on God just because you have. If someone asks God to bless this man, there is no reason to belittle them. It’s just rude. Yes, he needs medical attention, but, can a prayer really HURT him?
I say, God bless you, Dede. You are a strong man and I wish you well.
September 17th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
Hey Tara, Does a lie really hurt anyone?
Have you ever been hurt by a lie?
Are you a liar?
Give up on god because it is a lie. Which of the many gods and religions is yours? Why is yours the right one? Is everyone that does not believe the same as you going to hell?
You are ignorant and should not be dispensing advice to anyone.
September 24th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Funny that all these people are saying that Jesus will save Dede. Especially when you consider that 80.3% of the population of Indonesia follows Islam, so there’s a pretty good chance that he won’t be looking to Jesus….
That aside, I hope that he does the right medical treatment and look forward to the up and coming documentary regarding his story on the Discovery channel.
Best of luck.
September 25th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Enough already, Den. Do you need to believe and prove that you’re right all the time? Let others believe what they want to believe in, as others let you believe what you want to believe. I guess you’re just miserable, pushy and judgmental person. Truly, you must be crying for some attention!!!!
September 26th, 2008 at 9:35 am
mc, I’m challenging what others believe. That’s what a forum is about. As far as being right, if that’s how it appears to you, that is fine with me.
Regarding others allowing me to believe what I want, I, we, are bombarded with what others want us to believe every day, from churches to political groups and beyond, even your local retailer or farm. You need the best information you can get to make the most informative decisions in your life.
You think I am pushy? …then why has nobody, which includes you, answered the simple questions I have put forward?.
Your wasted rhetoric is exactly what I expect from a simpleton such as yourself. When one comes close to flushing out the truth it scares people with simple minds.
All you need to do is answer the simple questions I have put forth and then pose your own, but you can’t because your mind is weak and you loathe the fact that I am correct.
So, you resort to the only thing you have, throwing baseless insults… Brilliant! Just brilliant.
September 26th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Great good gods, is this a Christian website?
saw commercial on the Discovery Health channel regarding Dede, and decided to search online to get some info, and came across this forum. I can’t believe the level of proselytizing here. (or maybe I’m just lucky that the parts of the web I frequent don’t have many Fundies?)
I am glad that Medical Science was able to figure out what was wrong, and provide treatment.
To all the Fundie Christians here, I want to point out to you that you are the type of people who give Christianity a bad name. If you pay attention to the article, you will realize that Dede is Muslim. Now, I realize that you may not realize this, but there ARE more religions and gods than just your version of YHWH / Jesus Christ / Holy Spirit. Just because Ms. Palin is close to being one heartbeat away from being President Palin (a horrifying thought!) doesn’t mean that everyone in America agrees with her and you. You denounce the radical Islamists, but you are well on the way to being Cristianists. If someone doesn not agree with you, they are EVIL, and MUST DIE!
Dede, if by chance you happen to read this, I want you to know I am glad your life is getting back to ‘normal’. And I’m sorry that Fundamentalist Christians are trying to convert you.

[...] Dede Koswara dubbed the Tree Man is back after nine months of operations to remove the woody growth from his body. He was once sacked from his job, deserted by his wife and shunned by his neighbors - treated like a freak becaused of his gnarled growths sprouting from his hands and feet. The warts on Dede’s body was the cause of a severe Human Papilloma Virus infection. [...]

I second what MELE LUANI and many others are saying - that GOD will guide you, Dede, and be your shelter. “Dear Father God of Israel, I pray that you will lay Your Mighty hand upon Dede’s body and heal him of this horrible affliction, in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.”

Den
I am not a bible thumper by any sorts. I just couldnt help but to try to answer the simple question that you so seemingly want an answer to. Which god do you belive in and if you are not praying to the right one does that make you wrong? The answer is yes. God said “if your not with me you are against me” He also said “I am the alpha and the Omega, the beginning to end”
Thats why we have missionaries that do go to other countries to share the word of God. I do belive and I think there is no hurt in doing so. No matter the outcome after life dont you think that It makes people, as a whole, better people? Can you answer one simple question for me? If there is no God and if we did evolve from monkies. Then why do we still have monkies? That is a question that has been researched by thousands of people like you. People who just want to cause conflict and have such a small outlook that they refuse to belive in something or someone that is not visible, that cannot be scientificly proven. Doesnt a little part of you wonder what if God does exist? This life is so short and your going to spend the most of it trying to prove that we are wasting our time trying to get somewhere better. What if you are wasting your time and end up somewhere worse? I will pray for you sir.

Can we focus back on Dede? It is important he and his family receive treatment, love, and kindness, just as any of us would want. If you wish to say a prayer for Dede, do so. Your religion, faith, and politics matter to you, and that’s what counts. This forum or blog is about offering connection and hope to Dede and his family. If you wish to send him good messages, do so.
Dede, many people over the world are finding out about your condition, and struggle throughout your life. May you find comfort in those that try to help, and from this American Mom - my heart goes out to you, and I admire your courage to go through what you have. Take care, and best wishes. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Just know others are thinking about you.

I saw the special on Health TV in New york last night.
I do hope the course of Treatment worked for Dede.
I think cutting warts make them grow back. I hd a planter wart a while abck on my foot, and the poditrist cut it away, and it grw back with 2 more on my foot.the next time they were burned out with some sort of asid . they never grew back.
I do hope he does one day get married an dleada normal life

Life is a trip. Anyone else would commit suicide if faced with this condition. Dede is definitely a strong person and I really believe that God gives various individuals as much as they can bear.
I was pondering his condition and the surgeries he must undergo.. I witnessed technology whereby a person can be duplicated in stone, acrylic,or paper through laser sculpture. It just seems to me that the technology would be out there to cut away with lasers these growths on Dede’s body using x-rays of his bone structure as a guide to how much growth to remove…it is conceivable that almost all of the growths could be removed and dexterity returned to the fingers and toes(provided irreversible damage hasn’t been done to his bone structure)if this approach is utilized. Of course, this would take a lot of money to arrange for this sort of treatment. Maybe Dede will get lucky and Oprah or some other philanthropist will hear about him, want to help him, and provide for a way$$$$$$$$$ to get this done.

Thank you, Crystal, for answering and making my point. So if we are not choosing your god we all go to hell. This is why nobody would answer the question.
That fact is that nobody knows what happens to what we call a “spirit” after the body dies. Your guess is no better than the next person. For you to claim you know the answer by reading a book originally written by men (self proclaimed prophets) is pure fantasy on your part. You should have joined Heaven’s Gate and rode the comet to your destiny.
I don’t pretend to know all of the answers to the universe’s infinite questions, but I don’t create a fantasy to explain it either. If there is a god that chooses to pass judgement on those that do not bow to it in blind faith, then you can have it. Because if there is one god, then there are many. If you think you have cornered the market on THE god, then you deserve the disappointment you will eventually have. It is far more likely that we just cease to exist, however much you may not be able to deal with such a thought.
It’s alright to admit you don’t know. There is no penalty for being a good person simply because it makes sense for the common good. You don’t have to create a mythical god to know right from wrong.
October 12th, 2008 at 8:39 am
I almost forgot, I wanted to speak to dear Stephanie as well… What makes you think that Dede reads this? His village doesn’t even have eIectricity. How would he use the mouse or keyboard? Do you think about what you are going to say before you speak? I laughed my ass off when you talked to him directly. Hilarious!
October 13th, 2008 at 5:20 am
dede, you CAN do this! you WILL get through this! i BELIEVE in you! we ALL believe in you! YOU ARE BY FAR THE STRONGEST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN!! love jackie
October 13th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
I think that people need to stop pushing religion on everybody else. Yes, you can pray for this guy, but stop telling him that he needs to convert. Everybody haves a right to believe in what they choose to believe. I have faith that modern medicine can fix Dede’s disorder.
October 13th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Enough! Goodness, people. Stop pushing religion on each other. We all have the right to believe in what we want to believe, and I just wish that you can all accept the fact that not everybody is like you! Den haves his own beliefs… accept it! There are so many other religions who ALL say that their religion is right, and all the others are wrong (this is why I don’t have a faith, I believe in my own thing [ I call it "being one of a kind"]). Stop trying to push religion/belief on people who refuse to listen! It’s annoying, and just makes people angry! Also… if you are going to compare things, you should really research it and LEARN about it before you use it for a comparison. This was for the reference to monkeys.
On another note:
I believe that modern medicine can help Dede. If not, at least they can say they tried. He is a strong man to be going through this kind of ordeal.
October 14th, 2008 at 10:04 am
YOU JESUS FREAKS ARE COMPLETELY RETARDED
October 14th, 2008 at 11:13 am
Ammo, YOU ARE RIGHT!!!
FIRST AMENDMENT!!!!
FREEDOM OF RELIGION!!
…some people, not necesseraly those that are arrogant Christians or comparably arrogant atheists, piss me off. Force feeding their insolent and selfish ideas might give them something to do, but I will not lie with dogs, as I would then catch fleas. Torture and condemnation will never convince a person genuinely. Inspiration alone does.
Albert Einstien once said, “The more I know, the more I realize that I do not know.”
Den, I will not bother you about your choice, as it is YOUR business, not mine.
May God be with you all.
October 14th, 2008 at 11:16 am
P.S. My thoughts are inspired by Dede’s iincredible courage. I wish him the best of luck.
October 16th, 2008 at 3:33 am
To think we all complain when we have a blemish…this mans condition really puts things in perspective doesn’t it…
October 17th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
I guess Den you still have to prove you’re outright smart, intelligent and still want to impress everyone about whatever little knowledge you have about the world. Who are you to challenge people about what they believe in? You may be bombarded everyday with information by all sorts of people and it is your choice as an intelligent person to absorb them or not. Intelligent as you think you are, you may disagree but you cant win by being obnoxious. I agree that everyone has the right to take the best information for him/herself to make better decisions and we are not to say what is right or wrong for others.
I still think you’re VERY pushy, I haven’t read questions you put forward before, so what makes you think you should get an answer. Even if I did, I dont even have to. ….So how does it make you if I am a simpleton? So what if others have simple minds? Does that hurt you ? It does not scare me a bit about any of your statements ” on coming close to flushing out the truth, it scares people…” You’re just being too COCKY to make such a statement!!!
“All you need to do is answer the simple questions I have put forth and then pose your own, but you can’t because your mind is weak ….Here you go again being PUSHY…..what makes you think I would read everything you write, as if I care? Oh yes, my mind IS WEAK ,( so you think) “and you LOATHE the fact that I am correct.” What makes you so sure of that, ….Aw, you’re so FULL OF YOURSELF…. I just leave you be, you’re completely a waste of my time!!
October 18th, 2008 at 7:38 am
Den - you are…. right! We have physical proof of dinosaurs, which evolved and had millions of years to do so, but we have no physical proof of a God of any sort beyond a book or two wrote by MEN. Dinosaurs and the bible cannot co-exist. Sure there are passages that write about a “beast” which can be looslely translated to a big lizard who breathes fire (if I remember correctly) but it sounds more like a fictional dragon to go with that fictional book. I hope I helped Den’s arguement rather than create a new one. Think about it. Really. And explain to me how the bible and dinosaurs can make sense together =]

Now about Dede: I am appalled at the existance of such a disease/disorder. It is very sad for anybody to go through something like this; especially since its consumed him for more than half of his life. Western medicine is the best and its disappointing how he hasn’t received this top notch medical care sooner. Hopefully he can come out of this with all limbs, fingers, and toes intacts and begin living life known as “Dede” rather than “The Tree Man”.
October 20th, 2008 at 9:26 am
dede i am very sorry about what is happening to you. Every time i think about it me want to cry but instead of crying me pray for you to get well soon
October 20th, 2008 at 9:55 am
This message is vital for Mr Dede, if you really love this man and want to help…please get this message across to him where ever he is right now, that THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER IS THE ONLY ANSWER TO HIS PROBLEM.
Therefore,it will be very important for you to proclaim THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER as your lord and personal Saviour before you can be totally healed.
I like you to understand that your issue is beyond what medical science can solve b cos I know very well that its a spiritual misery and has been caused by Satan.
Remember, you were not born the way you are right now,it took you by amazement to see that’s how it now turn out to be.
JOHN 10:10,say that Satan has come to kill…to steal…and to destroy, but THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER says I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.I assure you that if you sincerely accept THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER into your heart today, you’ll walk out of that infirmity a free man.
Please, understand that what I am telling you now is no religious dogma or crap,as others think.
THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER IS REAL, I REALLY MEAN THIS…YOU CAN WALK AWAY FREE AND YOUR SKIN AS CLEAN AS THAT OF A BABY,IF ONLY YOU JUST BELIEVE.
Medical science can only do little or nothing to completely help you, THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTERIS THE ONLY ANSWER!
For more info. you can reach me on email…at: dekhator@yahoo.com
It shall be well with you in THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER name,Amen.

I have no advice for Dede as I am no doctor or seer. but I do have one Question for the Smartest guy in the universe known here on this forum as ” Den ”
“IF” you end up standing before The God that made the world and all things there in and He ask you WHY you Denied His Existence and tells His Angels to Bind you hand and foot and cast you into that Lake of Fire that does not exist according to you the Smartest guy in the world, What are you going to say with that Smart Mouth of yours then?
October 21st, 2008 at 3:29 am
Thanks Larry. What a wonderful compliment. I think I’m blushing!
I think I eluded to this earlier, but I’ll try to dumb it down for you Larry, and the rest of you Larrys out there as well. The life I live, if it were measured by the standards of the vast majority of religions, but let’s say primarily by christianity and the bible itself, is one of rather high moral standards. I would venture a safe guess that selecting members of heaven by their earthly deeds alone would ensure my place there. However, this requirement that I have to believe in something that cannot be proven is a poor test for anyone. If you think there is a god that is so kind and all knowing as you believe, this would hardly be a reasonable request of it. But, let’s dumb it down a little more, just for Larry. Religion is a man made, self taught experience. You are only aware of the rules to get into heaven because someone told/convinced/brainwashed you their opinion of what they are.
Children and young adults as well as many indigenous peoples of the world don’t have a clue what your god expects from them. They either don’t know at all or have been taught a different religion by their community. When their body dies and if they were to come before your god, to think your god would punish them for their lack of opportunity and their place in the world doesn’t fit in with the rest of your lord’s benevolence. In other words Larry, according to you, all of those innocent people that I described above go to hell because of your god’s bullshit request of mandated blind faith.
So it’s simple really, your religion’s requirements are as illigical as your religion itself. If there is a god (and this is only to respond to you Larry) it will do as it chooses and there is nothing anyone can say or do about it. Furthermore, because there is no way to know if you are correct about your beliefs, YOU might come before a god you did not expect and be judged as well. What will you say? “I….uh…ummm…well,,,,I believed what everyone else was telling me to believe.” Good answer Larry, very good. I can’t possibly see how a supreme entity could help but to be impressed with your logic. I’m sure it will reserve a special place for you. Maybe even put your picture in the dictionary next to “dumbass”.
And finally, it’s a moot question Larry. There is no god. I will not have to say anything.
But thanks for playing! Jesus, tell our contestant what he has won…

Den,
How unfortunate for you that you don’t feel God’s blessing in your everyday life. Whether you want it or not, believe it or not, God gives it freely to you. You have declined the greatest gift every given.
My sincerest sympathies.
October 21st, 2008 at 4:18 pm
I’m sorry jan, which god is that? Your god? Do we really need to go through this again? What makes YOUR god the one jan? How many people are YOU sending to hell because they don’t believe in YOUR god?
My life is complete. I enjoy every minute of it. My reality is constant and reliable. YOUR god is mythical and a crutch for those whom cannot stomach the facts of reality. False hope and wishful thinking are the basis of your every day routine.
You require a myth to save you from your own vulnerable, weak mind…
While I thank you most kindly for your offering, my dear, your sympathy is squandered. Save it for those that are truly unfortunate in this world. If you give your god credit for the good, he is therefor responsible for the bad as well. Travel to a third world country and see the despair he has given so many. Starving children and weeping mothers… people desperately clinging to life. The reality of my financial charity helps many of them to feed their families and put clothes and shoes on their children. I have helped to build an orphanage with my donations and my own two hands. Your god does nothing. You must be so proud of him.
October 25th, 2008 at 10:33 am
Den,
One question I would like to ask you. If you are wrong and those that believe in Jesus are right, what happens to you when you die? It sounds like an awful lot to risk to put your heart and soul on human reason. I know God exists because of what He has done in my life and other’s lives. I have seen people healed through prayer. You’re right, God does use people and the medical profession. We should take advantage of it. However, it’s faith in Him, that saves you personally not that makes you better just here on earth. Praying for you…
October 25th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
GLUA,
Your reading comprehension skills are severely lacking. Did you not read my response to that very question from Larry? You must read at what….a third grade level?
What a dolt!
October 25th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Damn, it’s true… Jesus freaks really are brainless pinheads.
October 26th, 2008 at 10:45 am
The very tone of your blog, making fun of me, calling me a Jesus freak are a little disheartening. Call me brainless, but if you knew my background and what God has blessed me with you would not say that. It’s faith like a child and I hope God reveals himself to you.
October 27th, 2008 at 2:47 am
thats gross and discusting, why would someone let that grow on their body.I would use whatever i could find to cut it off everyday if neccasary.
October 27th, 2008 at 7:43 am
Perfect!! If God reveals himself to me, I would gladly be a Jesus freak, I would actually be the biggest Jesus freak this Earth has ever seen.
October 31st, 2008 at 10:10 am
dear dede
God is not a man to lie, just believe in him he will make a way where seems to be no way and he works in so many ways we can not see.Confess him with all your heart, He is the healer and finisher.
Is there any way of helping Dede? please let us know how we can help ( clothes, financial support, shelter, shoes)etc
November 12th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
I saw this on TLC last nite and I cried. May God bless you Dede. You are in my prays.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:47 am
Oh, so if he had only been born again and/or poured bleach on himself, he wouldn’t be in this pickle. Gotcha.
Gotta love the internet.
