Shar Pei's are one of the most wonderful breeds on the planet. Smart, loyal easy to train, I have owned 7, not one with skin problems, they can have some trouble as a puppy do to wrinkles and need their eyes tacked or surgery. They do not become blind. They were not bred for fashion, but for fighting. The breed is over two thousand years old. Hardly a latest fashion statement! But they do grow out of a lot of their wrinkles. Skin on them grows faster than anything else. It will always be lose but full grown usually not as wrinkly. Full of different personalities, they are a delight to own. I currently have two brothers of different ages, and two completely different dogs. I could not ask for more. Please become educated in whatever breed you are interested in so you are not surprised.
