Richard Notkin Ceramic Art

Richard Notkin is an American ceramic artist who is especially known for his sculptural reinterpretations of traditional Yixing pottery. Although the vast majority consists almost entirely of teapots, Richard Notkin consider himself a sculptor and the material he love to work with is clay.

Amazing works! So much detail. I love how people can take somethng as ‘simple’ as a teapot and make it amazing to look at and still be functional!

This is great, great art. So like Richard Notkin (we used to call hom Dick in the old days). He has always been amazing. His wife was a wonderful artist also, doing watercolors and pen and ink drawings. Used to know them well back in the UCD days
