Lai Thi Dao – Vietnamese Girl Facial Tumor
Lai Thi Dao, a 15 year old Vietnamese girl had just underwent surgery for a 16 pound (7 kilogram) facial tumor in Miami. Finally free from the ordeal, doctors at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Center said that Lai’s tumor was one of the largest reported. The condition is called a Schwannoma tumor which is relative common and usually benign.
International Kid’s Fund is seeking charity to help cover the cost of the treatment which was estimated to cost around $107,000. The surgery has restored Lai’s difficult life even for the simplest tasks of eating, drinking and sleeping.

that was one of the first things a though when i saw the picture (i thought i was a joke like it’s been photoshopped)
but the videos made it look more real so now its more sad then funny x[

Hats off to the child for showing so much strength and will.. she’s been very brave for her age.. I hope such programs help more people accross the world with physical problems, to lead a normal and healthy life again.

you all are horrible, it hurts my heart to see that you don’t think about other people. everytime i see something wrong or the person has some sort of disablitity/ problem I want to help….. except I’m only 11 years old so how am i to have a job and get money to help? Just think, just think that if you have a tumer on your face….. will you have friends? will you not get made fun of? will you get to play like a normal kid? NO. IF YOU WERE THAT GIRL………….NO. just think. and here you are making fun of people. one day in my religion and belief you will get to have a disability/problem like that girl beacause you have made fun of her, on the other hand one day she will look pretty like an angel the OPPOSITE OF YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW.

I a agree with Palma, the government did take an abundant amount of money in to their pocket. They spent 2-3 million dong per day and the poor people have a poor living on less than $1 a day. The world was right when they fought against communist and they was not right for leave some of shit survive (China, Cuba, Vietnam, …)

Ok, so im pretty sure it wouldn’t cost 100k to grab a friggin sword and chop that fucker off.i know it would work, but why not just slice open the skin and remove a huge chuck of tumor from her, and then go to the doctors and ask for surgery, I bet it would cost a shitload less.

“concerned” person/troll: Cutting off a part of a small child’s face without anesthaesia, antibiotics or the medical equipment required to prevent irreparable damage is inhumane, cruel and potential fatal. What a ridiculous notion. Next time you have a toothache why don’t you just grab a power drill and take care of it yourself to save a few bucks. Go kill and slaughter your own meat and save money there. Heck, while you’re saving money why don’t you forgo housing and live in a cave. It’ll cost a lot less than paying for a roof overhead and it’ll be a far more suitable habitat.

Breaks my heart to see her with a shirt with a cartoon character on it and a stuffed dolphin tucked under her arm. Despite getting the rawest of raw deals, all she wants is to be a normal little girl.
