This endangered two meter long leatherback turtle (largest and heaviest of all living turtles) was unlucky and got caught by Palestinian fishermen near Gaza City. It was slaughtered and eaten by the fishermen who said its blood was an aphrodisiac among other therapeutic qualities. A Reuters cameraman said the fishermen collected the giant turtle’s blood and gave it to children suffering from trauma and adults with back problems.

Faith is a bipedal female dog that was born with only 3 legs and but her deformed front leg was amputated soon after birth. A dog tale that deserves a standing ovation where she was adopted by Jude Stringfellow and later learn to hop and walk on her two hind legs.

Faith has become a star and her owners have started the With Little Faith Foundation and they travel along with Faith the dog spreading their faith and God’s love to as many as they can.

This is a rare two headed snake found by a farmer in a village in Alicante, Spain. The snake seems to be able to use both of its heads at the same time and Spanish scientists are still studying if the snake has two separate digestive tracts and if a head dominate the other. The chances of a two headed snake surviving in the wild is very slim as both would often fight over which head will swallow the prey as well as difficulty in deciding which direction to go.

The honey badger is the most fearless animal on Earth according to the Guinness Book of Records. Their dinner ranges from insects, snakes to rodents. The honey badger gets its name from its appetite for beehives and there are cases of dead honey badgers being found stung to death within the hives they were trying to eat.

Flocke is the new celebrity polar bear cub who was born by polar bear Vera at the Nuremberg Zoo in Germany. Since Knut has grown up and not cute anymore, Flocke has stolen all the limelight from photographers. Even Flocke stuffed animal toys are released by manufacturer Steiff GmbH which produced the well known Knut teddy bears.

The armadillo girdled lizard defines how a cool lizard would look like. This South African lizard also called Cordylus cataphractus lives in colonies of up to 40 individuals and roll up into a ball when threatened.

In an attempt to garner more viewers, an animal park in China treated viewers a bizarre display of a lion riding a horse. The horse sure doesn’t look very comfortable with such a big cat on its back.
