Ugly Swan Finds Love At Last
The ugly swan was born with a crooked neck and looks out of place in a swarm of beautiful swans. The ‘ugly duckling’ though have found its love where the swans are wintering. It has been two days since it has arrived and has been hanging out and feeding together with another male swan. It is still early to know if they are mates until a week after as it could just be a fling.

Usavich – Imprisoned Rabbits
Usavich is a lovely series of animation that you would instantly love once you watch it. This was created for MTV Japan by Kanaban Graphics and tells the story of Kirenenko and Putin, the two rabbits who are held captive in a Russian gulag. There are currently 23 volumes in total which was an instant hit when it was broadcasted on television.

Colony Of 60,000 Pairs Of King Penguins
King penguins also known as Aptenodytes patagonicus is the second largest penguin after the Emperor penguins. This is an amazing photo of about 60,000 pairs of hatching King Penguins in Salusbury plain on south Georgia. Hit the link to see the high resolution photo.

Touching scene of a dog which stood by its companion that was hit by a car on the streets. The crowd were intrigued by its display of loyalty and its pretty sad to see this kind of affection even if it came from animals.

Bird Survives Vicious Hawk Attack
Amazing capture of a poor bird which was attacked viciously by a hawk. It didn’t die at first but somehow it was still able to walk and it probably wouldn’t live long with its brutal injury on its neck.

Hyena Pet
Hyenas are savage animals but when in captivity it can be just like other tame domestic animals. This is part of a photo series in which Pieter Hugo the photographer took with a group of wandering Nigerians. There were three different hyenas shown and apparently have quite a deep relationship with its owners. More photos are shown at Pieter Hugo website.

They are powerful hunters with great appetite, and has jaws that can tear flesh including human flesh. They can travel on land without water up to 3 days which gives their high survival rate. |

Horse Fight In China
I never knew horse fights existed until I saw this article at Daily Mail. These were taken in a horse fight tournament in China where horses savagely attack each another until the other one is injured or dies. The cruel sport of horse fighting has been outlawed almost worldwide but still thrive in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea and China. Most who came to watch were more keen on gambling bets than the actual horse fights. Authorities in China says that it is hard to stop an event that is embedded into local culture.
