A $1000 carboard model cutout police car has been slowing down motorists at state highway roadworks in the Nelson region, New Zealand. It was promoted by roading contractor Fulton Hogan as an initiative to slow down traffic. Fulton Hogan’s staff were often injured by gravel sent flying when people drove too fast.

The World’s Biggest Burger created by Bob’s BBQ & Grill of Pattaya, Thailand was witnessed by a local TV crew and officials from Ripley’s Believe it or Not who recorded the burger’s weight at 78.5 pounds against the previous holder of 50 pounds held by Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Pennsylvania, US. It measures 60cm (23.5 inches) in diameter and 35cm (13.75 inches) in height. Once official certification is received, it will be added to the Guiness World Records under ‘The World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger’.

This parsnip on the left wins the ugliest vegetable contest in England as it resembles a creature from the abyss. All entries had to be grown from seed. Hillary Nellist from Bradford, the owner of the parsnip wins an organic vegetable box for a year and advice from a National Trust gardener.

This carrot in the shape of a child’s foot was found by a 60 year old man who bought a few carrots at the local market. He brought it to a nearby studio and had two photos taken. He even rejected an offer price for the carrot.

Fourteen year old Khagendra Thapa Magar would have to wait for another four years before he can be considered the world’s shortest man after an initial submission of becoming the world’s shortest person. Amarilis Espinoza, a Guiness World Record spokeswoman said by email from London that Guiness World Record cannot examine more details until he reaches the age of 18 years old.

Steve Irwin who is famously known as the Crocodile Hunter was killed in a freak accident where he was fatally gored by a stringray on the Great Barrier Reef. He was stabbed in the heart and the whole footage was caught on film. He was swimming above the 2.5m string ray when it suddenly turns and sends a poisonous barb through his heart. It would not have been so fatal if it had hit elsewhere. He left behind his wife with her two children Bindi, 8 and Bob, 2.The segment of the film on stringrays was for a new television program that will be hosted by his daughter Bindi.
