Skull Detach From Man’s Head

Hundreds of people are thronging a hospital in Kolkata India to see a patient who had part of his skull detached. Severe burns caused a part of the skull to detach from the 25 year old electrician Sambhu Roy last Sunday. The skull’s inner covering and membrane which helps to produce bones was unaffected allowing fresh bone to grow.

Roy was electrocuted during last October and a new skull is replacing his old one. He is also keeping the skull part as a prized possession for life.

Hot Dog Competition 2006 Winner Broke World Record

Takeru Kobayashi, 27 sets a new record of 53 3/4 hot dogs in 12 mins. His previous record was 53 1/2 hot dogs at the same competition two years ago. The competition was held on Coney Island. His strongest competition was Joey Chestnut who set an American record by eating 50 hot dogs during a qualifying tournament in Las Vegas. Chestnut came in a near 52 hotdogs.

World’s Tallest Woman Yao Defen Starts Treatment

Yao Defen (36 years old) who is believed to be the world’s tallest woman at 2.36 meters(7.75ft) has begun treatment in a Shanghai hopital to get rid of a brain tumor at the root of her gigantism. Listed at 2.36 meters, she is 5 cm more than Sandy Allen who is currently listed as the world’s tallest woman by Guiness World Records.

The hospital is providing free care to Yao Defen who comes from a poor family background. Prviously working at a circus to support her mother, she was only able to receive treatment after her story was broadcast internationally by the Discovery Channel.

Ferrari Knitted In Wool

A ferrari knitted in wool, now that’s some crazy knitting. Art student Lauren Porter, 22 of Bath Spa University took ten months to make the full size replica using 12 miles of yarn. A steel frame puts the car shape in place and the horse badge is hand embroided.

Making her fifth appearance at the National Spelling Bee, Katherine Close, 13 wins aftter seven rounds of head-to-head battle with Finola Hackett, 14. She will take home more than $42,000 in cash and prizes. The purpose of the National Spelling Bee is to help students improve spelling, increase vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all of their lives.

Three Arm Baby

A 2 month old Chinese baby boy identified by the name “Jie Jie” was born with an unusual well-formed third arm. Both the two left arm are not fully functional and the baby cried when either of the left arms was touched. The boy also was born with just one kidney. Doctors in Shanghai are considering surgery for the little boy.

Bizzare Baby Born In Nepal

Freak Baby

A Bizzare-looking baby in was born in Charikot which was neckless with its head sunk into the shoulders and has the face of a frog with big eyeballs. It was born to Nir Bahadur Karki and Suntali Karki at the Gaurishnkar Hospital. The baby died after half an hour of its birth though andthe news spread like wildfire with hundred of onlookers at the hospital. Police were even deployed to control the crowd.

New Crustacean Kiwa Hirsuta

A new crustacean has been found by a team of American-led divers. The hairy lobster as depicted in the picture is blind and white in colour. (ape-like lobster?) It is about 15 centimeters long and scientists have created a new family and genus for it.

Different Colour Twins

Kylie Hodgson gave birth to twin daughters but the phenomenon is that they are of different colours. Her husband and her are both of mixed race where their mothers are both white and their fathers are black. The odds of getting the different coloured twins are a million to one.

Stone Age Tribe Kills Fishermen

Stone Age Tribe

The Sentinelese are one of the world’s last Stone Age tribes and they live on a deserted island in the Indian ocean. Reminds me of the tribe in the King Kong movie.

Two fishermen who were fishing illegally and got drunk for the night failed to notice that their anchored boat didn’t get hold and was drifting towards the deserted island. They were attacked and killed by the tribemen when they got ashore. Attempts to recover the bodies have failed and environmentalist urged authorities to leave the bodies.
