Currently I’m transferring www.hemmy.net to a semi-dedicated server at Hostgator so there won’t be any updates for these few days. This is to cater the increasing traffic since my account on my old host has been suspended many times for consuming too much cpu resources. Latest Update: I’m upgrading to the high cpu plan on my webhost www.bluehost.com. Will be updating as usual until the upgrade takes place in the near future. The upgrade would probably take around 24 hrs for the domain name to propogate through the DNS.

While the article got to the front page of digg and reddit, the cheapass webmaster also known as onion82 at www.eglobe1.com posted to the big sites at www.fark.com and www.i-am-bored.com. Well, anger was the first emotion to be released but calmly later, it was realised that something had to be done bout this in a rational manner. But this is the way to tackle those using cheap tactics. The next time I’m going to write a long article, I will definitely watermark the pictures first. Watermarking doesn’t always mean taking pictures and make it your own but it is also to prevent theft like this. This is a valuable lesson to be learnt definitely.

Had been working on another site which caters to the best video clips found on the web recently. XenVideo gets a new look from the boring old green template. Video lovers can rejoice. Since Hemmy.net could not cater to bring you all the best videos that are found on the web, a subdivision site is created at www.xenvideo.com . It is dedicated entirely to videos only. The design is still under construction however it is updated at a frequent rate.

This month has been a meteoric growth. Pageviews totalled almost 500k with 243k unique visitors, creating a new record for the sixth month of Hemmy.net. Technorati rankings broke through below 10k and next month’s aim for Hemmy.net is to achieve a Technorati ranking of below 3k. The traffic is a temporary surge because a lot of visitors came in from fark and ebaums world. However the number of backlinks obtained from the traffic was definitely invaluable. Thanks again for all those who visited this site.

Hemmy.net is currently hosted on BlueHost and the bandwidth limit has increased from my previous of 40gb to 400gb per month. This will allow me to make more updates and bring more incoming traffic without worrying about the bandwidth limit. Thanks for visiting this site and be sure to expect lots of updates soon.

Every month I will be posting my traffic results as well as rankings. I forgot to post it in April so this is the results for May. This month has seen another huge surge in traffic. Some of them came from digg, forums, stumbleupon and blogs. I am pretty happy with the results, however bandwidth has become more of a problem for this site. I’m sure some of you has seen the bandwidth exceeded message few days ago. My host has told me that my site cannot be sustained under the shared hosting plan of theirs because it has consumed too much of their cpu resources so I am considering moving my site to bluehost, a quite popular US host which might take quite a hassle. Anyway thanks for the sites that linked to me and I will work hard to make this a better blog. Thanks everyone.

Also sorry for those who had suggested new articles which didn’t get replied (No mail received on my side when I tested it). I just realised that the settings on my hosting server has disabled php sendmail for quite some time. I’m still working on this one. Should be up within a few days.

The Adsense Official Blog interviewed a Dublin based Adsense optimsation specialist who told his optimisation story where he said there was one science website that was earning $10 per day but after tweaking a bit shot up earnings to $1700 a day. He gave some tips on how to optimise your site as well.

A bit disgruntled, I replied them an email of which I requested them to reconsider my application stating that I fulfill all of their requirements. I did not expect a good reply but then one of the staff replied that there must be a mistake in denying my site and I was finally accepted into the Chitika program. In the end I was happy with the response that I have gotten and hopefully I can earn some pocket money with Chitika.

Every month I will be posting my traffic results as well as rankings. This month has seen a huge surge in traffic due to traffic coming in from digg, reddit, i-am-bored and various forums and blogs. Next month I am pretty sure my traffic won’t be that high since my site is only three months old and not much traffic from search engines.

It was a tremendous growth from last month and thanks to all the blogs that linked to my site. Page views and unique visitors have increased almost 1000% from the previous month. I’m also still juggling time management of working and maintaining this website at the same time. (Few updates when i’m busy at work ) Thanks to all the regular readers and I will definitely provide more interesting contents to post in the future.

However, google also looks at the weight of the vote castor which means the more high quality sites link to your site the better your page rank. Pagerank is combined with sophisticated text-matching techniques as said on Google’s website.

My site has gotten a pagerank of 3 from 0 (You can see the pagerank at the bottom of the sidebar) after my post on Breahtaking Aurora Photos experienced the digg effect of which i considered it very lucky.
