Christopher Conte is the artist behind these sculptures which has embraced cover in Wired, Popular Science, Make Magazine as well as The Discovery Channel and MTV Networks. Having a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from Pratt Institute he entered the prosthetics field and began making artificial limbs for amputees in New York. Chris applies his love, talent and experience into his sculptures which are both unique and artistic.

Euphoria Character Animation Engine

This is a demo of Euphoria’s realistic character animation system which is used for the animation tech in Grand Theft Auto 4. It doesn’t require an animator to generate all possible movements and uses a combination of artificial intelligence, physics and biomechanics. This is truly the future development of character animation.

Bruno Torf Fantasy Garden

Brunos Garden 01

Artist Bruno Torf created this sculpture garden as a permanent attraction in the small Victorian village of Marysville near Melbourne, Australia. The luscious sub-alpine forests of the surrounding areas were ideal for Bruno’s settings which consists of over three hundred paintings and sculptures. The garden started out with just fifteen life size terracotta sculptures but slowly grew to over one hundred and fifteen pieces on display.

‘Zoom’ Picture Book by Istvan Banyai

Philosophy Drawing 01

Zoom by Istvan Banyai is a provocative wordless volume with illustrations that slowly zoom out as though the viewer backed away from the previous one. It is interesting to watch the transition in each zoom out perception and thus makes it a great picture book.

You can get the full 64 page book at Amazon for $11.89. Istvan Banyai has also created another similar picture book called ‘Re-Zoom’.

Lai Thi Dao - Vietnamese Girl Facial Tumor

Lai Thi Dao, a 15 year old Vietnamese girl had just underwent surgery for a 16 pound (7 kilogram) facial tumor in Miami. Finally free from the ordeal, doctors at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Center said that Lai’s tumor was one of the largest reported. The condition is called a Schwannoma tumor which is relative common and usually benign.

International Kid’s Fund is seeking charity to help cover the cost of the treatment which was estimated to cost around $107,000. The surgery has restored Lai’s difficult life even for the simplest tasks of eating, drinking and sleeping.

In quantum physics, parallel universe theory says the universe is constantly splitting up and that each universe consist of copies of us. One of the most basic question about our space is that whether it goes on forever or whether it is curved. The universe could be infinite and the implications would be that there are infinite many stars and planets.

If you travel far enough probabilities say you will find duplicates of Earth and even of yourself.

Giant Grouper Caught By Medical Student

J.J. Tabor of Thibodaux, a medical student, caught this giant warsaw grouper that weights in at 359 pounds (163 kg). The haul is 12 ounces above the previous Louisiana state record and the world record caught in Florida in 1985 was 436 pounds (198 kg).

Birthday boy blew his day when he crashed a month old Ferrari Spyder that his pal hired as a birthday treat for him. They were driving 85 mph on an abandoned runway at Blackbushe Airport, UK when it smashed into an earth bank. Above shows how it should like before the crash. 300,000 USD supercar gone to waste in just a flip and I wonder who’s going to pay for the damages.
